More than 1,500 families in East TN were devastated by the floods generated by Hurricane Helene in late September. Over 500 families had their homes completely destroyed. Tennessee Baptists have committed to build at least 40 new homes and repair as many others as possible. In collaboration with Appalachian Service Project (ASP), these homeowners will be vetted to ensure their true needs are met. This goal will only be met because of the thousands of volunteers that will come to East Tennessee to build and repair the homes of these families. Many of the volunteers will travel great distances to get to East Tennessee and each will need a place to sleep at night. Team sizes will vary, but ideally 8-10 on a team is a good size. Teams will need a place to sleep (gym floor, Sunday School classes, etc.), a place to shower, and food. Sometimes creativity is required to pull all of those things off in one place.
If your church/association is interested in hosting these volunteers while they are working in East Tennessee, please complete the information below and we will get you on the schedule as soon as possible.
