Chef D's Kitchen Policies, Terms and Conditions
Participation in Chef D's Kitchen workshops and events involves the preparation and handling of food and the use of potentially hazardous equipment, such as knives, stovetops, and ovens. By attending our events, participants acknowledge and agree to the following:
General - Chef D's Kitchen is the dba for Truffles n Thyme LLC
Minimum Class Size of 6 - It may be necessary to cancel select classes if 5 or fewer guests enroll. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience, and we will issue a full refund if this occurs.
Accessibility - Chef D’s Kitchen is located in an old building in the heart of Sussex Borough and is not wheelchair accessible. Due to the small size of the venue, Chef D's Kitchen cannot accommodate strollers, booster seats or high chairs.
Age Restrictions - Chef D's Kitchen welcomes anyone over the age of 18 to participate in adult events. Students younger than 18 can participate in tween/teen/family workshops and events.
Health and Safety / Dietary Restrictions - Participants are responsible for informing Chef D's Kitchen of any food allergies, dietary restrictions, or medical conditions prior to the workshop or event. While we take precautions to avoid cross-contamination, we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.
Chef D’s Kitchen will do its best to accommodate the restriction but cannot guarantee that those with a dietary restriction or allergy will be able to eat everything made during the workshop or event.
Participation in Chef D's Kitchen workshops and events involves the preparation and handling of food and the use of potentially hazardous equipment, such as knives, stovetops, and ovens. Safety gloves are provided for handling knives and participants under the age of 13 will be provided with a nylon knife for cutting.
Substitutions - Chef D’s Kitchen reserves the right to substitute ingredients. This is an uncommon occurrence but due to ingredient availability or supply chain issues may be necessary.
Cancellation / Refunds – Due to limited seating and the high demand for our workshops and events, all payments are non-refundable. A credit, valid for one year, toward future events will be issued based upon the following schedule:
- up to 45 days prior to the event date - 100% of deposit
- up to 30 days prior to the event date - 50% of deposit
- up to 7 days prior to the event date - 25% of deposit
- No credits will be issued for cancellations within seven days of the event date but you always have the opportunity to transfer your seat to someone else

Chef D’s Kitchen always has the right to cancel an event and will issue a full refund if this occurs.
Service Charge – Please note that Chef D's Kitchen recommends an 18% service charge in recognition of the team's dedication to providing you with an exceptional experience which can be added to the final balance at the end of the event. A service charge is not suggested for Teen Cuisine and Cooking Together events.
Alcoholic Beverages – Chef D’s Kitchen is a BYOB venue. Chef D’s Kitchen does not uncork, pour, serve or provide alcoholic beverages. Chef D’s Kitchen provides wine and beer openers, glasses and ice. All guests consuming alcoholic beverages must be over the age of 21. No more than one bottle of wine per guest over the age of 21 is recommended, and no alcoholic beverages will be permitted during events where children under 13 are present.
Patrons of Chef D’s Kitchen are responsible for monitoring their own alcohol consumption which may not infringe upon the safety and enjoyment of all guests and teammates within the venue. Chef D’s Kitchen has the right to ask a guest to discontinue consuming alcohol, as well as to leave the premises if demonstrating unruly behavior. Any leftover beverages should be taken with the guest. Chef D’s Kitchen offers non-alcoholic beverages for purchase.
Photography – Chef D’s Kitchen sometimes takes photographs and video during workshops and events which are used for various purposes, such as promotion and advertising. You release Chef D’s Kitchen and its representatives, licensees, employees, photographers and designers from any and all liability for any violation of any privacy or proprietary rights. By participating, attendees consent to the use of any photographs or videos taken during the workshops or events for promotional or educational purposes unless otherwise stated in writing.
Assumption of Risk – Participants assume all risks associated with the events and activities, including but not limited to injuries, allergic reactions or foodborne illnesses.
Release of Liability – Chef D's Kitchen, its owners, employees, instructors and affiliates are not liable for any injuries, damages or losses incurred during or as a result of participation in workshops or events.
Personal Property – Chef D's Kitchen is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged personal belongings brought to the premises.
