Seven Rivers Church is looking for people to serve as advocates. An advocate is someone who will walk alongside someone who might need encouragement, companionship, coaching, or a trusting friend. The time commitment may be as simple as committing to a one-time meeting up to providing coaching or communication weekly or biweekly for as long as needed. Below are some examples of how you might serve.
- Financial Assessment
Sitting down and assessing the financial needs of someone that has requested this help, assisting them in developing a budget, etc.
- Coaching/Encouragement
Walking alongside a family or individual to help encourage and form a plan to achieve greater stability and/or navigate challenges such as illness, financial struggle, grief, etc.
- Companionship/Friendship
Checking in on someone regularly (weekly or biweekly) via text, phone call or visit to see how he or she is doing and helping person to find resources for needs that might arise. This would especially be focused on seniors, caregivers, widows, widowers, single parents, and anyone facing a vulnerable season of life.
