  • We are excited and appreciate your interest in sharing your Research Presentation at the JFK School of Psychology and Social Sciences (JFKSOPSS) Virtual Student Research Conference - Building Bridges: Stories and Strategies from Immigrant Faculty and Students.

    Research Presentations will allow presenters to share completed OR in process dissertations, current research in process, completed research, or scholarly papers. Research Presentations must be focused on topics relevant to the conference theme, including immigrant issues and/or social justice, equity, diversity and inclusion.

    Research Presentation Format: Presenters will have 10 minutes to present about their completed research, with an emphasis on conclusions and implications of the research and will then open the time for the remaining 5 minutes to conference participants to ask questions about the research. Total time - 15 minutes per session.

    The period for the submission of proposals is now open and has a deadline of 5pm PT January 31st, 2025. Please complete the form below to provide more details about your research idea or presentation and a member of the conference committee will follow up with you directly. You will receive a confirmation email once you've submitted the form.

    Conference dates are February 20th and 21st, 2025 from 9-1130am PT (12-230pm ET).


  • Brief description of your (proposed) research problem, and your research question(s) (not to exceed 350 words) including:

    • the larger/general issue, supported with evidence such as statistics and citations (information demonstrating the salience of the general problem). 
    • a brief description of the specific problem that necessitates your proposed line of inquiry (what is missing/the gap with the literature, and why additional research is needed). 
    • Your research question is the driving question behind your research, and it should reflect a central question or hypothesis summarizing the problem*
