Congratulations on your engagement! Preparing for marriage in the Catholic Church is an exciting journey that goes beyond just planning your wedding day. It’s about building a strong foundation for your life together. This Pre-Cana Course will help you and your future spouse understand the Catholic sacrament of marriage better, giving you spiritual and practical guidance for a happy married life.
Before you register, here are a few important things to keep in mind:
- We strongly suggest you and your partner attend this marriage preparation course together. It is a great way to start meaningful conversations about building a strong foundation for your marriage.
- Priest Consultation: All couples marrying in the Catholic Church must start their sacramental preparation at least six months (or, in some cases, 12 months) before their wedding date. This starts with meeting your local parish priest, even if you’re planning a destination wedding. Your priest will guide you through the steps needed to marry within the Church, covering requirements based on universal Church law, diocesan customs, and state regulations.
- Course Certificate: You will get a certificate upon completion.
- Registration Fees: The course has a registration fee of $390 per person. Make sure to select the correct option below if you’re registering as an individual or as a couple.
- Sacrament of Reconciliation: It is highly recommended for Catholics to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation before the wedding. This will help you approach the altar in a state of grace, open to the blessings of the Lord.
This Pre-Cana Course is designed to support you and your partner in building a loving and lasting marriage. We’re excited to journey with you during this sacred time of preparation.
