It is extremely important that every performer be at rehearsal when called. For the good of the show and out of respect for the performers and staff, we must know that we have your part covered. We understand that actors may be involved in several afterschool activities, jobs, and other commitments, however, please know that by signing up for this production, participants are making a commitment to being part of a team. While the occasional missed rehearsal can usually be worked around if known in advance, it would be very stressful and difficult for actors to learn their role in the show if they are missing a lot of rehearsal time. It is also a strain on the other actors in the show to try to rehearse with an actor who is absent. Please be honest and thorough when documenting conflicts for the participant and please do not add more conflicts later.
Make sure to list:
- Afterschool activities
- School-mandated functions such as concerts/graduation
- Medical appointments
- Out-of-town trips
- Family functions and/or holidays you are expected to attend.
- For regularly occurring conflicts, please list concisely such as "Softball, Wednesdays from 6-8 p.m." If it is a one time conflict just specify the date(s). For example: "Family Vacation, Sept. 9-13"
NOTE: Listing conflicts does not mean that you will not be called to rehearse on those days. We do our best to work around schedules, but it is quite impossible to avoid everyone’s conflicts. We prioritize work schedules and school commitments required for a grade. If there is a conflict you are willing to skip if needed, please note that. Excessive absences may result in the actor being removed from musical numbers, or ultimately, the show. No refunds will be given for any fees paid or tickets purchased if actor is removed from show.
