Survey: Should Games Be Fun?
A survey for game companies and game company employees
Welcome to the Funmersive Survey, a joint project by the University of Turku and the University of Jyväskylä!
Although fun is known to be directly related to motivation, it is often not taken seriously as an element of engagement in service design. Critical attitudes, especially towards gamification, have increased both in research and in business.
Funmersive is a collaborative research initiative between the University of Turku and the University of Jyväskylä, aiming to understand what makes experiences enjoyable and what fun means for different services, such as games and gamified solutions. The goal of Funmersive is to produce scientific insights about fun that will benefit service design and business.
The purpose of this survey is in understanding the importance of fun in the gaming experience within game design and business. This survey is intended for game industry companies, and anyone from CEOs to game designers and other industry professionals are equally welcome to respond.
This survey also serves as an invitation to participate in the Funmersive collaboration. At the end, you can express your interest in joining the Funmersive initiative. If you choose to leave your contact information, we can also send you a summary of the main results of this survey to the email you provide.
The survey takes approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. Participation is completely anonymous, and no individual company's information will be reported or shared with third parties.
Thank you in advance for your valuable time and contribution to the development of the game industry!
