Please submit a specific request for support using this form. We cannot guarantee we will be able to meet your entire request, but we will do our best to offer help. We will do our best to provide other resources if we are unable to meet your needs. Artists may be contacted for more information or verification. We have the right to deny any request that does not meet the purpose of this fund.
Who Can Apply:
Professional working artists of any medium
Locations Served:
These funds are for Watauga and Avery County Artists, first. Artists from other counties may be considered if additional funds are available, but it is not likely. We encourage artists from other counties to contact their local Art Council to seek support resources.
Relief Needs:
This fund is intended to be flexible to meet the unique needs of each artist, however it is not a Christmas wish-list. This is not for general desires, or needs that do not pertain to effects of Helene or other crisises. Some needs may not be specific to your art practice but might effect it, so please be sure to be clear as to how this relief will support you as an artist.
We Might Network to Support Your Need:
If an artist needs something like studio repairs, items, or services, etc. we may put a call out on social media for support. We will keep the name of the artist and any identifying details private during this process, unless otherwise communicated.
Artist Support Grant:
We provide an Artist Support Grant every year to help artists develop professionally. Funds can be used for projects, professional development, travel etc. We encourage you to apply for the Artist Support Grant if you have needs for professional development.
Time-Sensitive Requests:
If your need is time-sensative and you do not hear from us, please feel free to call or email. Please do not drop in unannounced. Checks will never be written on the spot. We follow careful procedures to maintain fiscal responsibility. All checks require two signitures.
