A. Students must wear the Winder CNA Nametag given at first course date. Students must also adhere to the dress code.
B. Students must interact respectfully and with integrity to all Instructors, Students, Coworkers, Professional Staff, Residents, etc.
C. No phone usage will be allowed in the Classroom, Lab, or Clinicals.
D. Disruptive behavior or inappropriate language such as profanity or inappropriate discussion of personal problems during any phase of training and testing is not permitted
E. Display professionalism and self-control at all times
F. Perform no task for which the trainee has not received training
G. Practice all safety precautions taught for each lab skill
H. Reporting appropriate information such as changes or problems in resident to instructor and/or supervisor; i.e. students must report all concerns immediately to the clinical instructor first, or a nursing home supervisor per nursing home policy
I. Follow HIPAA Guidelines at all times. HIPAA violations may result in dismissal from the program and may prevent placement on the Georgia Nurse Aide Registry
J. Respond to emergencies as needed
K. Cheating is prohibited and will result in the immediate dismissal from the nurse aide course
L. The removal of unauthorized program and/or testing documents is prohibited and will result in the immediate removal from the program. Eligibility for placement on the Certified Nursing Aide Registry will not be allowed
M. Instructors/contractors must be paid according to the NATP service agreement with the program.
Disciplinary Actions
Failure to follow the Code of Conduct is immediate basis for dismissal form the program and/or loss of approval status with the State Contractor. The State Contractor reserves the right to remove approval for teaching/oversight status for program coordinators and/or instructors.
Student Responsibilities
Students are responsible for:
- attending school on a regular basis and to be on time.
- completing all academic work as assigned.
- bringing appropriate materials to class.
- obeying school/classroom rules.
- respecting the rights of others.
- their own actions.
- using appropriate language.
- respecting school property.
- complying with requests of school employees.
- dressing appropriately for school.
Student Rights
Students have the right to:
- an education.
- attend a safe school.
- physical safety and protection of personal property.
- not be discriminated against.
- privacy.
- fair and just treatment by school employees.
Students are expected to follow the Dress Code, Attendance Policy, and Clinical Requirements. Any form of Cheating or Non-approved assistance on Homework, Quizzes, or exams will not be tolerated, and will be subject to student suspension with no refund given for any coursework.
Certain behaviors that are so serious in nature in terms of the disruptive effect upon the operation of the school may be deemed Exceptional Misconduct. Exceptional Misconduct includes, but is not limited to:
- possession or sale of a controlled substance
- profane or vulgar language directed to and in the presence of a staff member
- arson
- all fighting and/or assault and battery
- harassment
- defacing, misuse or destruction of property
- defiance of school authority
- possession of dangerous weapons
- theft
- At no point will Harassment, Intimidation or Bullying be tolerated at Winder CNA Training.
If any of the code of conduct policies are broken, the student will be suspended without a course refund given. The student will also not be able to attend Winder CNA Training again.
