1. Booking Process
1.1 Inquiry: A booking inquiry does not confirm availability or guarantee services.
1.2 Confirmation: Bookings are only confirmed with:
- A signed contract, and
- A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total booking fee.
1.3 Payment:
- Balance Due: The remaining balance is due 14 days before the event.
- Last-Minute Bookings: For bookings made within 14 days of the event, full payment is required at the time of booking.
2. Payment Base Rates
2.1 Local Base Rate: Base rate covers a minimum booking of 3 hours within a 30-mile radius of the DJ's residential zip code. Additional hours: $150/hour.
2.2 Travel Rates: Events beyond 30 miles of the DJ’s zip code incur a $100 travel fee. For out-of-state or multi-day events, see Section 3: Travel and Accommodation.
2.3 Holiday Fees: A holiday fee will apply based on standard industry rates for events on recognized holidays.
3. Performance Terms
3.1 Equipment:
- DJ services include a laptop, DJ controller, and relevant software. Additional equipment (e.g., speakers, microphones, lighting) must be provided by the client or rented at the client’s expense.
- Stable Power Source: A consistent and reliable power source is required.
- Wi-Fi Access: A reliable internet connection must be available.
Failure to provide these essentials may result in service delays or cancellation without refund.
3.3 Set-Up and Soundcheck: The client must provide venue access at least 2 hours prior to the event for setup and soundcheck.
4. Travel and Accommodation
4.1 Travel Arrangements: For events outside California, the client must book round-trip airfare (economy class, no more than one 90-minute layover) and ground transportation to/from the venue.
4.2 Accommodation: For overnight bookings, the client must provide accommodations at a 4-star or higher-rated hotel. Shared or personal accommodations are not permitted.
4.3 Per Diem: For multi-day events, the client must provide a daily meal allowance of $75 if meals are not included.
5. Event Logistics
5.1 Event Schedule: The agreed schedule must be followed. Overtime is available at $150/hour and must be agreed upon in advance.
5.2 Event Delays: If the event starts late due to client or venue issues, the DJ will only perform during the originally contracted time unless overtime is requested and paid.
6. Cancellation Policy
Nonrefundable Deposits: All deposits are nonrefundable under any circumstances.
Rescheduling: At the DJ’s discretion, funds may be transferred to a new event date scheduled within 90 days of the original event, provided reasonable notice (30+ days) is given.
Nontransferable Deposits: If reasonable notice is not provided, or the event cannot be rescheduled within 90 days, the deposit is forfeited.
7. Liability and Insurance
7.1 Damages: The client is responsible for any damage caused to the DJ’s equipment by attendees, venue staff, or other third parties.
7.2 Indemnification: The DJ is not liable for issues beyond their control, including but not limited to power outages, venue-related issues, or acts of God.
8. Additional Terms
8.1 Media Release: Unless specified otherwise, the DJ may capture photos/videos of and/or live stream their performance for promotional use.
8.2 Force Majeure: Neither party is liable for failure to fulfill obligations due to uncontrollable events, such as natural disasters or government restrictions.
8.3 Governing Law: This contract is governed by the laws of the State of California. For disputes arising from out-of-state bookings, mediation will occur in the client’s state of residence.
