Title: Electrical Engineering Department Manager

Their expertise includes Architecture, Building Engineering, Interiors, Workplace Strategy, Urbanism & Planning, Branded Environments, Technology Solutions, Asset Advisory, etc. Their Roanoke office is looking for an Electrical Engineering Department Manager who will be integral to their Building+Places practice and electrical discipline in the East Region. The work encompasses a diversified balance of market sectors, including Federal, Commercial, Corporate Workplace, Higher Education, Sports, and Healthcare. They're especially recognized as a center of excellence for their expertise in highly complex Department of Defense command and control facilities, leading the design of numerous mission-critical facilities across the United States and around the globe. They seek an individual for this role whose strengths and interests are technical excellence, people management, mentoring, and leading clients.
The individual we seek will work on various designs of high-performance buildings within multiple sectors, including Corporate Workplace and Commercial buildings, Federal Civilian and DoD, Healthcare, Mission Critical, Justice, and Higher Education projects.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field plus twelve (12+) years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration
- Experience managing an Electrical Engineering Department is strongly preferred.
- Presentation experience with clients.
- Experience with Revit and AutoCAD-based design projects.
- Competent in all conventional aspects of electrical engineering and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard electrical engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Experience in the following markets: DoD, Healthcare and Labs, Corporate Commercial / Mixed Use.
- Experience with sustainable design.
- Documented experience with advanced design and aesthetically challenging design with high-profile architecture firms.
- Analyze equipment energy use for optimizing systems selection.
