Fairfax County Alumnae Chapter
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, was founded on January 13, 1913, by 22 collegiate women at Howard University to promote academic excellence and provide assistance to those in need. The Founders of Delta Sigma Theta envisioned an organization committed to sisterhood, scholarship, service, and addressing the social issues of the time. Since its founding, Delta Sigma Theta has become one of the preeminent service-based sororities, with more than 300,000 initiated members and over 1,000 chartered chapters worldwide. The major programs of the Sorority are based on the organization's Five Point Thrust of:
- Economic Development
- Educational Development
- International Awareness and Involvement
- Physical and Mental Health
- Political Awareness and Involvement
The Fairfax County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., chartered in 1993, will award scholarships to African American female students who demonstrate a high degree of scholarship, leadership, and community service. All applicants must have a 3.0 or higher grade- point average on a 4.0 scale and must be a resident of Fairfax County, Virginia.
The application may also be found on our web site, fcacdst.org. The completed application must be received by 6:00 p.m. on February 14, 2025.
The Official Transcript must also be emailed to scholarship@fcacdst.org. It must be signed, labeled “Official Transcript”, and emailed by an authorized school official by 6:00 p.m. on February 14, 2025.
