  • This class is intended for those who know training is essential when it comes to handgun use; being safe, competent, and confident in close-quarter use of force requires training. Issues of liability demand know-how and continued training. We will work with you in a classroom with Dry Fire Exercises and take the classroom to the range to expound on this training. This time can be used to select a gun and holsters. We have an outline but are open to bending to your specific needs once our course objectives have been met. THIS IS A 4-HOUR SESSION. Includes range time (RANGE FEES NOT INCLUDED. YOU WILL PAY THOSE AT THE RANGE)

    1. Every gun is loaded:  Treat every gun as if it is loaded and dangerous.
    2. No live ammo is to be brought into the classroom.  
    3. All handguns are to be made safe before coming to class:  No ammo in the gun, magazines, nor speed loaders.
    4. Be safe in classroom:  Keep the safety in the on position and the gun in its case, holster, bag, or box with no live ammo.
    5. Be safe on the range:  Keep the safety in the on position and the action door open until you are ready to fire.
    6. Mind the trigger:  Keep you finger off the trigger and outside the trigger guard until you are ready to fire. 
    7. Only point at it if you want it destroyed:  Always keep the gun pointed downrange and never point a gun at anything you are not planning to shoot.
    8. If it’s loaded, leave it on the line:  Check to make sure your firearm is unloaded, the action door is open and the safety is on before bringing it off the shooting line.
    9. Protect yourself:  Wear protective eyewear and ear protection at all times on the shooting lanes, even when not shooting.
    10. Check your weapon:  Always make sure your weapon is functioning correctly, properly cleaned, and safe to use.
    11. Know your target and beyond:  Always know what you are shooting at and be mindful of what is around and behind your target.
    12. Alcohol and gun powder don’t mix:  No alcohol consumption 8 hours prior to nor during allocated times for training.  
    13. Drugs and guns don’t mix:  No illegal drugs are to be in your blood system 8 hours prior nor during the times allocated for training.
    14. Failure to abide by the above rules may result in removal from the class or range facility and denial of further training.
