  • Inquiring Chef Academy Counselor Interest Form

    Thanks so much for your interest in working as a counselor at Inquiring Chef Academy! While I am not currently hiring, there's a good chance that I'll be looking for new counselors soon. We hold camps over most school breaks and during the summer. You can read more about the job below.

  • Camp counselors at Inquiring Chef Academy serve two important roles: 1) culinary management, insuring that our kitchen runs smoothly and 2) supervision of campers, ages 5-12.

    Both roles require patience, maturity, flexibility, and a willingness to closely follow instructions. Our campers will look to you as an example as they are working through new challenges.

    Counselors must plan to actively work with small groups of campers, assist with the preparation of food for meals, and all of the clean-up that is required after camp activities. Counselors will help with set-up, washing dishes, putting supplies away, and keeping the spaces we use for camp clean, organized, and tidy.

    To qualify as a counselor, you must:

    • Have completed 8th grade and be at least 14 years old by the start of camp 
    • Have a bank account for compensation
    • Be willing to complete a training session before camp begins 

    You might be a great counselor if you:

    • Enjoy spending time with children
    • Enjoy cooking
    • Are patient, friendly, responsible, and flexible
    • Are willing to closely follow instructions and adjust to help with any needs that come up during camp
    • Are willing to help keep our space clean, including wiping down tables, washing dishes, and other responsibilities as assigned

    Counselors earn 15$ / hour.
