  • Thanks so much for taking the time to fill out our survey. We’ve created it to in order to learn more about you and what would you like to see in a children's museum in the Golden Isles. Community input and involvement areessential to the success of SPARK.


    What is SPARK?

    SPARK is an inclusive and interactive museum designed for children of all ages to discover the unique ecology, vibrant cultures, and diverse histories of the Golden Isles through play and exploration. The museum will maintain permanent installations and feature rotating exhibits, offering dynamic learning experiences that spark curiosity and creativity among museumgoers.

  • Some of the interactive exhibits we are planning on including in SPARK are:

    • Living Marsh: Museum guests "transform" into Atlantic mud fiddler crabs allowing them to explore, learn, and connect with the ecosystem from a unique perspective.
    • Explore the Mini City with zones inspired by local industries and landmarks (including a farmers market, shrimp boat, and oyster roast, to name a few).
    • Journey of the Altamaha River: Visitors embark on an exciting multi-level water table adventure following the Altamaha River from its headwaters to the sea.
    • Sidney Lanier Bridge Engineering and Construction Area
    • Wander through a two story Live Oak tree with a "whammock" (a giant, three dimensional hammock) for climbing and exploring.
    • A stage for fun, pretend play.
    • Endless Possibilities, creative Makerspace.
    • An innovative SPARK Ideas Tinker Lab.
    • An outdoor storytelling pavilion and archeology digging area for exploring the cultures and historical diversity of the Golden Isles.
