  • THE PARK CHURCH SCHOLARSHIP

    CRITERIA

    The Park Church Scholarship Fund will award scholarships to selected applicants who satisfy all of the following requirements:

    a)  academic performance,

    b)  financial gap not covered by other scholarships or grants,

    c)  record of on-going service to the church and

    d)  financial support to the church.

    Financial Assistance

    1. The Park Church Scholarships are available for graduating high school seniors only.

    2.  The Park Church Scholarships will be awarded for direct school costs only (tuition, room, board and books).

     GPA REQUIREMENT

    Applicant must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0.

  • 5AC SCHOLARSHIP

    CRITERIA

     The 5AC Scholarship will be awarded to a student who has been accepted to an NCAA accredited four-year college or university.  This student exemplifies exceptional scholastic achievement, active in the community and within ministry and serves as a role model to his/her peers.

    FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

    1.  The 5AC Scholarship is available for graduating high school seniors only.

    2.  The 5AC Scholarship will be awarded for direct school costs only (tuition, room, board and books).

    GPA REQUIREMENT

    Applicant must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0.

     

  • 6 POSITIVE BROTHERS SCHOLARSHIP

    Criteria  

    The Scholarship will be awarded to a student who has been accepted into a 4-year institution, demonstrates good character, actively serves in ministry at The Park Church, is a leader in both their community and school and exhibits a strong spirit of perseverance through life’s obstacles to meet their goals.

     

     Types of Financial Assistance

     1.  The 6 Positive Brothers Scholarship are available for graduating high school seniors only.

    2.  The 6 Positive Brothers Scholarship will be awarded for direct school costs only (tuition, room, board and books).

     

    GPA REQUIREMENT

    Applicant must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of at least 2.75.

  • LEROY AND VEOLA ANDERSON, SR. MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

     CRITERIA

     The Mr. & Mrs. Leroy & Veola C. Anderson, Sr. Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a student who displays a strong faith in God, through their relationship of Jesus Christ.  Student is resilient and has high values for family and education, hard work and service.

     TYPES OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

    1. The Mr. & Mrs. Leroy & Veola C. Anderson, Sr. Memorial Scholarship is available for graduating high school seniors only.

    2.  The Mr. & Mrs. Leroy & Veola C. Anderson, Sr. Memorial Scholarship will be awarded for direct school costs only (tuition, room, board and books).

    GPA REQUIREMENT

    Applicant must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0.

  • FELTON AND LENORA AVERY LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP

     CRITERIA  

     Our scholarship is created in the loving memory of our father/husband/father-in-law and in honor of our mother who raised us with a passion for academic excellence and achievement despite the obstacles we would face. Our parents never lost faith that our hard work and talent would result in scholarships to help cover our college expenses. God did exceedingly abundantly by allowing their twin daughters to be awarded with full tuition, room and board scholarships for their undergraduate education. It is with that spirit, that we, the Avery, Hendrix, and Hollingsworth families want to give back to other high-achieving students to help make their dreams of higher education come true.

    TYPES OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

    1.  The Felton & Lenora Avery Legacy Scholarship is available for graduating high school seniors only.

    2.  The Felton & Lenora Avery Legacy Scholarship will be awarded for direct school costs only (tuition, room, board and books).

    GPA REQUIREMENT

    Applicant must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 and plans to pursue a STEM career.

  • IDA KATHERINE BROWN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

     CRITERIA

     The Ida Katherine Brown Memorial Scholarship has been set up to honor the memory of our mother who was an active member of The Park Church for over 70 years.  She valued education and always wanted to assist young people pursuing an education.

     TYPES OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

    1. The Ida Katherine Brown Memorial Scholarship is available for graduating high school seniors only who will attend an HBCU.

    2.  The Ida Katherine Brown Memorial Scholarship will be awarded for direct school costs only (tuition, room, board and books).

    GPA REQUIREMENT

    Applicant must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0.

  • CITY AND SOUL FOOD TRUCK CATERING STUDENT MEAL PLAN AWARD

     CRITERIA

     The The City & Soul Food Truck Catering Student Meal Plan Award is created to support a student experiencing financial need.  The purpose of this award is to help students focus on their studies, while eliminating the worry of their next meal.  This meal plan award provides support for the fall and spring semesters.

    TYPESS OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE  

    The The City & Soul Food Truck Catering Student Meal Plan Award is available for graduating high school seniors only and will be awarded toward meal costs only.

  • DEACON LOIL, SR AND DEACONESS EMMA COVINGTON MEMORAL SCHOLARSHIP

     CRITERIA

    The Deaconess Emma Covington and Deacon Loil Covington, Sr. Family Scholarship will be awarded to a student who exemplifies leadership and one with a servant leader’s heart.

    TYPES OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE 

     

    1. The Deaconess Emma Covington and Deacon Loil Covington, Sr. Family Scholarships are available for graduating high school seniors only.

    2. The Deaconess Emma Covington and Deacon Loil Covington, Sr. Family Scholarships will be awarded for direct school costs only (tuition, room, board and books).

    GPA REQUIREMENT

    Applicant must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0.

  • DIVINE NINE UNITY SCHOLARSHIP

     CRITERIA

    The Divine Nine Unity Scholarship will be awarded to a student who has exhibited leadership, moral fore of character, maturity, generosity and who is an achiever.

     TYPES OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

    1. The Divine Nine Unity Scholarship is available for graduating high school seniors only.

    2. The Divine Nine Unity Scholarship will be awarded for direct school costs only (tuition, room, board and books).

    GPA REQUIREMENT

    Applicant must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5.

  • NANETTE DULA SCHOLARSHIP

     CRITERIA

    The Nanette Dula Scholarship will be awarded to a student who has good integrity, goal oriented, they should have good morals, respect and a relationship with God.

     TYPES OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

    1. The Nanette Dula Scholarship is available for graduating high school seniors only.

    2. The Nanette Dula Scholarship will be awarded for direct school costs only (tuition, room, board and books).

    GPA REQUIREMENT

    Applicant must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0.

  • G.R.A.C.E. (Giving Recognitions Always Creates Empowerment) SCHOLARSHIP

    CRITERIA

    The G.R.A.C.E Scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior who has been accepted into a post-secondary program, including a 2-year community or junior college, vocational or technical school, or a 4-year college or university.  This student should demonstrate servant leadership, the heart of Christ, and the drive to overcome hurdles to achieve excellence.

    TYPES OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

    1. The G.R.A.C.E Scholarship is available for graduating high school seniors only.

    2. The G.R.A.C.E Scholarship will be awarded for direct school costs only (tuition, room, board and books).

    GPA REQUIREMENT

    Applicant must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5.

  • MRS. MARY HARDEN SCHOLARSHIP

    CRITERIA

    The Mrs. Mary Harden Scholarship will be awarded to a high school graduating student based on need.

    TYPES OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

    1. The Mrs. Mary Harden Scholarship is available for graduating high school seniors only.

    2. The Mrs. Mary Harden Scholarship will be awarded for direct school costs only (tuition, room, board and books).

    GPA REQUIREMENT

    Applicant must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of at least 2.75.

  • THE VANESSA YVETTE HAWKINS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

    CRITERIA

    The Vanessa Yvette Hawkins Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a student who has a relationship with Jesus Christ.  Students are academically resilient, a history of community engagement and service to the church.  Special consideration given to students that demonstrate an interest/participation in social justice matters and female empowerment.

    TYPES OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

    1. The Vanessa Yvette Hawkins Memorial Scholarship is available for graduating high school seniors only.

    2. The Vanessa Yvette Hawkins Memorial Scholarship and will be awarded for direct school costs only (tuition, room, board and books).

    GPA REQUIREMENT

    Applicant must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0.

  • THE REVEREND WILLIS MURPHY HICKERSON, SR. MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

    CRITERIA

    The Reverend Willis Murphy Hickerson, Sr. Memorial Scholarship is open to high school students who have been accepted into a two-year community college, a four-year college or university or an accredited career-focused academic institution.  Students who are active members of The Park Church (at lease 6 months prior to application submission), actively serve in a ministry at The Park Church and the Charlotte community, engaged in and/or pursing their passion of the performing arts, and able to demonstrate a financial need will be considered for this scholarship.  Students must also provide three (3) letters of recommendations.

    TYPES OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

    1. The Reverend Willis Murphy Hickerson, Sr. Memorial Scholarship is available for graduating high school seniors only.

    2. The Reverend Willis Murphy Hickerson, Sr. Memorial Scholarship will be awarded for direct school costs only (tuition, room, board and books).

    GPA REQUIREMENT

    Applicant must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0.

  • DR. RJ A CHILD OF SINGLE PARENT (ACOSP) SCHOLARSHIP

     CRITERIA

    This scholarship will be awarded to a student of a single parent who needs assistance to attend an accredited college, trade or vocational school. Student must exemplify exceptional scholastic achievement, active in the community and ministry.

    TYPES OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE  

    1.The ACOSP Scholarship is available for a graduating high school senior only.

    2. The ACOSP Scholarship will be awarded for direct school costs only (tuition, room, board and books).

    GPA REQUIREMENT

    Applicant must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5.

  • THE DERAK T. MASON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

     CRITERIA

    The Derak T. Mason Memorial scholarship aims to honor the memory of Derak Mason by supporting youth who desire to pursue higher education in Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics), Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM). 

    TYPES OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE  

    1. The Derak T. Mason Memorial Scholarship is available for graduating high school seniors only.

    2.  The Derak T. Mason Memorial Scholarship will be awarded for direct school costs only (tuition, room, board and books).

    GPA REQUIREMENT

    Applicant must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 (unweighted).

  • DONNA MCCRAY FAMILY BOOK AWARD

     CRITERIA

    The Donna McCray Family Paying It Forward Book Award will be awarded to a student who will attend their first year of college helping make their life a little easier as they focus on their studies which will allow them to become a successful student.

    TYPES OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE 

    The Donna McCray Family Paying It Forward Book Award is available for graduating high school seniors only and will be awarded toward book costs only.

    GPA REQUIREMENT

    Applicant must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0.

  • ALFRED MOORE SCHOLARSHIP

     CRITERIA

    The Alfred Moore Scholarship will be awarded to a student who has exhibited leadership, moral force of character, maturity, generosity and who is an achiever.

     TYPES OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

    1. The Alfred Moore Scholarship is available for graduating high school seniors only.

    2. The Alfred Moore Scholarship will be awarded for direct school costs only (tuition, room, board and books).

    GPA REQUIREMENT

    Applicant must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0.

  • ERNEST AND ELRETTA MOORE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

     CRITERIA

    The Ernest and Elretta Moore Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a student who is active in church ministries in some capacity and has a financial need for college.

     TYPES OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

    1.  The Ernest and Elretta Moore Memorial Scholarship is available for graduating high school seniors only.

    2.  The Ernest and Elretta Moore Memorial Scholarship will be awarded for direct school costs only (tuition, room, board and books).

    GPA REQUIREMENT

    Applicant must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0.

  • RJK NICHOLS SCHOLARSHIP

     CRITERIA

    The RJK Nichols Scholarship will be awarded to a student who has demonstrated a significant leadership contribution to church, by participating extensively and consistently in church ministry.

     TYPES OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

    1. The RJK Nichols Scholarships are available for graduating high school seniors only.

    2. The RJK Nichols Scholarships will be awarded for direct school costs only (tuition, room, board and books).

    GPA REQUIREMENT

    Applicant must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0.

  • THE PLUS PARK CHURCH SCHOLARSHIP

     CRITERIA

    The PLUS Park Church Scholarship Fund will award a scholarship to a selected applicant who satisfies all of the following requirements:

    a)  academic performance, IEP growth, Occupational Course of Study (OCS)

    b)  financial gap not covered by other scholarships or grants,

    c)  record of on-going service to the church and

    d)  financial support to the church.

    TYPES OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

    1. The PLUS Park Church Scholarship is available for those with special needs graduating high school and desiring to continue education.

    2. The PLUS Park Church Scholarship will be awarded for direct school costs only (tuition, room, board and books).

    GPA REQUIREMENT

    Applicant must have a progressive IEP growth.

  • WILKS FAMILY SERVITUDE OF PAUL AWARD

     CRITERIA

    The Wilks Family Servitude of Paul Award is designed to recognize a college bound student who has rendered tireless service to the church through continued participation in ministries.  The individual that receives this award has a “can do” response to the church whenever called upon for service, additionally they perpetuate the life of the ministry through outreach to others and encouraged their participation and support of the church and its ministries.

     TYPE OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

    The Wilks Family Servitude of Paul Award is available for graduating high school seniors only and will be awarded for direct school costs only (tuition, room, board and books).

    GPA REQUIREMENT

    Applicant must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5.

  • MRS. DIANE F. SMITH MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

     CRITERIA

    The Mrs. Diane F. Smith Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a student who displays a strong faith in God, through their relationship with Jesus Christ.  Students are resilient and has high values for family and education, hard work, and service.

    TYPES OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

    1. The Mrs. Diane F. Smith Memorial Scholarship is available for graduating high school seniors only.

    2. The Mrs. Diane F. Smith Memorial Scholarship will be awarded for direct school costs only (tuition, room, board and books).

    GPA REQUIREMENT

    Applicant must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0.

  • THE TAYLOR FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP

     CRITERIA

    The Taylor Family Scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior attending a historically black college or university. 

    TYPES OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

    1. The Taylor Family Scholarship is available for graduating high school seniors only.

    2. The Taylor Family Scholarship will be awarded for direct school costs only (tuition, room, board and books).

    GPA REQUIREMENT

    Applicant must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0.

  • DEACON SAMUEL AND DEACONESS BOBBIE THOMPSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

     CRITERIA

     The Deacon Samuel and Deaconess Bobbie Thompson Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a student who is strong in their faith and have a true relationship with God.  They should have been involved in church ministry as well as one who has served as a doorkeeper (usher) within the church.  Student should have been involved in the community.

    TYPES OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

    1.  The Deacon Samuel and Deaconess Bobbie Thompson Memorial Scholarship is available for graduating high school seniors only.

    2.  The Deacon Samuel and Deaconess Bobbie Thompson Memorial Scholarship and will be awarded for direct school costs only (tuition, room, board and books).

    GPA REQUIREMENT

    Applicant must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5.

  • CEDRIC TUCKER FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP

     CRITERIA

    The Cedric Tucker Family Scholarship will be awarded to a student who has been accepted into a 4-year institution, demonstrates good character, actively serves in ministry at The Park Church, is a leader in both their community and school and exhibits a strong spirit of perseverance through life’s obstacles to meet their goals.

     TYPES OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE 

    1. The Cedric Tucker Family Scholarship is available for graduating high school seniors only.

    2.  The Cedric Tucker Family Scholarship will be awarded for direct school costs only (tuition, room, board and books).

    GPA REQUIREMENT

    Applicant must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0.

  • AJA VALENTINE FAMILY PAY IT FORWARD SCHOLARSHIP

     CRITERIA

    The Aja Valentine Family Pay It Forward Scholarship is our way of giving back and paying it forward to another student in financial need, by providing the same assistance to a student who is striving for academic excellence, one with and abundance of faith, and have the desire to leave a positive impact in their community.  The Park Church scholarships helped my parents in many ways which allowed me to achieve my goal by earning a double major degree in Finance and Business.

    TYPES OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE 

    1. The Aja Valentine Family Pay It Forward Scholarship is available for graduating high school seniors only.

    2. The Aja Valentine Family Pay It Forward Scholarship will be awarded for direct school costs only (tuition, room, board and books).

    GPA REQUIREMENT

    Applicant must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0.

  • CIARA J. WAGNER SCHOLARSHIP

     CRITERIA

     The Ciara J. Wagner Scholarship will be awarded to a young woman who has interest in education and has demonstrated service to the community by volunteering with youth or those with special needs.

    TYPES OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE 

    1.  The Ciara J. Wagner Scholarships are available for graduating high school seniors only.

    2.  The Ciara J. Wagner Scholarships will be awarded for direct school costs only (tuition, room, board and books).

    GPA REQUIREMENT

    Applicant must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0.

  • JESSE AND CLARKYE WILKS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP 

    CRITERIA

    The Jesse and Clarkye Wilks Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a student who exhibits leadership ability in school, church and/or community.

     TYPES OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

    1.         The Jesse and Clarkye Wilks Memorial Scholarship is available for graduating high school seniors only.

    2.         The Jesse and Clarkye Wilks Memorial Scholarship will be awarded for direct school costs only (tuition, room, board and books).

    GPA REQUIREMENT

    Applicant must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0.

  • ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

     

    1.  To be eligible for a scholarship, the applicant must have been a member* of The Park Church for at least 6 months prior to the  application  deadline. Also, the applicant must have a record of on-going service and financial support to the church.

    (*Membership in the Church shall consist of baptized believers who have been immersed in water accordance with the New Testament order and have given evidence of their repentance toward God, and of their personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as Redeemer and Savior)

    2.  Applicant must show proof of admission to  an  accredited  post-secondary institution  –  this  includes  community  colleges,  technical institutions,  trade/vocational/professional  schools  and  four-year, degree granting institutions.   Applicant must plan to enroll as a full- time  student  as  defined  by  the  institution  he/she  plans  to  attend. Usually, this is defined as a minimum of twelve (12) semester hours.

    VERIFICATION OF APPLICATION MATERIALS

    The Scholarship Ministry, through its official representatives, reserves the right to verify information submitted in support of an application and to request additional information when needed.

     SCHOLARSHIPS

    1. All recipients must meet the requirements of the scholarship.

    2. Scholarships will be based on the funds available, as determined by the Scholarship Ministry.

    3. All applicants who submitted an application for this scholarship will be considered. 

     SELECTION OF SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS

     1.  Interviews will be held Thursday, May 15, 2025.  Applicants will be notified of their interview time.

    2. The Scholarship Ministry will make the final selections and approve all scholarships for The Park Church Scholarship and the Donor will make make the final selections for their scholarship.

    ADMINISTRATION OF SCHOLARSHIP

     1. Funds awarded will be issued in the name of the institution that the recipient indicates he/she will attend. If a scholarship recipient determines that he/she cannot enroll as intended, he/she must provide a written notice  to  the  Scholarship  Ministry  no  later  than  ten  (10) calendar days after the semester or quarter begins.  The dispensation of funds will be determined at the discretion of the Scholarship Ministry.

    2.  Scholarships will be subject to adjustment based on other financial assistance received by the student.

    3.  All scholarships will be  finalized  upon  receipt  of  the  student’s  final financial aid award letter.  If the Scholarship Ministry determines that the student’s direct school costs (tuition, room, board and books) have been paid by another source, the scholarship will be forfeited and will be returned to the ministry’s general account.  No funds will be paid to the student or carried over into future years.

    4.  Scholarship recipients must earn at least a 2.5 and 12 hours during the first semester  in  order  to  receive  the  second  half  of  the  scholarship. Recipients who do not earn at least a 2.5 and 12 hours during the first semester will forfeit the second half of their scholarship.  Scholarships will not be carried over into future years.
