  • MCTS is making our routes even better for you!

There are dozens of ways MCTS can make route changes while staying within our budget. Here’s your chance to tell us where you’d like to see improvements and what tradeoffs you’re willing to make to get to where you’re going. To view maps in more detail, click to enlarge.
  • Route 14

These options come from rider feedback. Riders asked for Route 14 to extend further west on Wisconsin Avenue.  Below are a few options; as the route gets extended, buses will come less often.

  • Existing Route 14
    Ends at Wisconsin & Cass
    Bus comes every 15-20 minutes

    Route 14-A
Extends to Wisconsin & 12th (Marquette)
    Bus comes every 18-28 minutes

    Route 14-B
Extends to Wisconsin & 16th (Marquette)
    Bus comes every 23-35 minutes
  • Route 19-Downtown

This option would help address operational concerns from our drivers. They have told us, “Congestion, event detours on MLK between McKinley/Knapp and Kilbourn Avenue can lead to safety and operational concerns as well as confusion for riders."

  • Existing Route 19.
Bus travels on MLK Jr Drive, Kilbourn Ave, and 6th St.
    Bus comes every 14-27 minutes

    Route 19 on 6th Street.
Route 19 turns onto McKinley Ave then onto 6th Street.
    Bus comes every 14-27 minutes.
  • Route 19-Oak Creek

This option would address scheduling and operational challenges. We could provide more consistent service on Route 19 plus the potential for additional service in Oak Creek by splitting the route

  • Existing Route 19.
Every bus travels on 13th Street to College Ave, low-frequency service south on 6th St to Drexel Town Square and Howell Ave to Puetz Rd.
Buses comes every 14 to 27 minutes on high-frequency section and every 45 minutes on low-frequency section

    Route 19 and New Route.

Buses comes every 14-27 minutes on Route 19 and every 45 minutes on the new route.
  • Route 20

Ridership on Route 20 south of Layton is very low. MCTS could shorten Route 20 and shift those resources elsewhere. Here is what Route 20 could look like:

  • Existing Route 20
Continues south on 20th and ends at 27th and Sycamore (just south of College)
Two buses on route. Bus comes every 35 minutes

    Reduced Route 20
Ends at 20th and Edgerton (Ronald Reagan High School, just south of Layton)
One bus on route. Bus comes every 55 minutes
  • Route 51

Ridership to Lake Drive is very low, and Route 51 has the lowest ridership of all high-frequency routes.  This option would free up resources that could be used elsewhere.

Limited service (8 daily trips) to Lake Drive.

    Reduced Route 51
