    Brainspotting Specialty Workshop or Specialty Group Consultation Request for Approval

  • Thank you for requesting approval of your Brainspotting Specialty Workshop or Specialty Group Consultation, and for contributing to the larger Brainspotting community.

    To be approved as a Brainspotting Specialty Workshop or Specialty Group Consultation, the program must clearly demonstrate several foundational Brainspotting principles, including:

    1. The Neuroexperiential Model of Brainspotting

    2. Brainspotting as a Developmental model

    3. The Uncertainty Principle 

    4. Mindfully receiving, shaping, and holding the frame with the client

    5. The Dual Attunement Frame

    6. Tail of the Comet

    7. W.A.I.T

    8. The Three Legs of Brainspotting:Outside Window, Inside Window, Gazespotting

    9. Focused Mindfulness Processing

    Additionally, the presenter must demonstrate expertise in the specialty topic, showcasing both advanced knowledge of Brainspotting principles and the ability to effectively integrate these principles with their specific area of expertise.

    Requests for a Brainspotting Specialty Workshop or Specialty Group Consultation approval must be completed by the 1st of the month. All requests will be reviewed, and presenters will receive a preliminary response within the same month from the Specialty Committee. Final approval will be determined by David Grand.

  • Describe how the foundational principles of Brainspotting are integrated into your specialty workshop or specialty group consultation, explicitly addressing the following:

     

    1. The Neuroexperiential Model of Brainspotting

    3. The Uncertainty Principle 

    4. Mindfully receiving, shaping, and holding the frame with the client

    5. The Dual Attunement Frame

    6. Tail of the Comet

  • Expertise in Specialty Topic or Population

  • Supporting Documentation:

    Please provide supporting documentation that validates the pathways to expertise indicated above. Only include materials that are relevant to the specialty topic or population and are specific to the community within that area of expertise. 

    Examples documentation can include:

    • Written attestation letter from a community member within the area of expertise. 
    • Link to a website or other public listing
    • Awards or formal recognition from an organization
    • Résumé or Curriculum Vitae
    • Advertisements or promotional materials from past presentations
    • Any additional relevant documentation

  • In addition to your supporting documentation of expertise, final approval requires the delivery of all program materials

    Upon initial request, you have two options:

    Option 1: Supply all program materials, including the slide deck, handouts, bibliography, and any other materials or literature to be provided to participants.

    Option 2: Supply an annotated outline of the program, including a bibliography.

    Review Process:

    Option 1: The Specialty Committee will review your application and inform you whether your program is recommended for approval, needs revision, or is not approved. Final approval will be granted by David Grand.


    Option 2: The Specialty Committee will review the outline and notify you if it is sufficient to proceed with a review of the full materials, needs revision, or is not approved. If full materials are requested, they will be reviewed, and you will be informed whether your program is recommended for approval, needs revision, or is not approved. Final approval will be granted by David Grand.

    The committee's response will include details on the next steps in the approval process. 

  • Final Considerations

  • Expectations of Specialty Workshop or Specialty Group Consultation Presenters

  • Once approved, Specialty Workshops and Specialty Group Consultation:

    1. Will be granted permission to use the 'Approved' logo on marketing materials.
    2. Will be marketed on Brainspotting.com. 
    3. Will be eligible to market on the International Facebook page.
    4. Brainspotting Trainings, LLC will send email blasts advertising your Specialty Workshop or Specialty Group Consultation.

    Approved Specialty Workshop Presenters and Specialty Group Consultation Facilitators:

    1. Are considered part of Brainspotting Trainings, LLC faculty.
    2. Must ensure proper credit is given by accurately citing and acknowledging the original creators of any work you use.
    3. For Specialty Workshops only:
      1. Will receive a contract from David Grand.
      2. Are expected to pay to pay a 4% fee of gross receipts (training fees before expenses) due to Brainspotting Trainings, LLC for each instance of the workshop.
