Mental Health Trainings
Broadwater County Public Health Department is looking for your input on mental health trainings needed and/or wanted in your organization and in the community to prevent people from a crisis situation and to better help people if they are in crisis
Which trainings are you interested in attending if offered?
De-Escalation Trainings such as MOAB (Management of Aggressive Behavior) and MANDT
QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer)-Learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help.
Youth Mental Health First Aid-Learn how to help an adolescent who is experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis.
Mental Health First Aid-Learn how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders in adults.
ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training)-Learn how to assist and intervene with those at risk for suicide. (This is a 2 day training)
SBIRT (Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment)-Learn how to identify individuals who use substances at risky levels and refer them to the appropriate resource. (This tool is used in medical clinics, schools, and hospitals primarily)
Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale-Short suicide risk questionnaire used primarily in healthcare settings to identify if someone is at risk for suicide, assess the severity and immediacy of that risk, and gauge the level of support that the person needs.
