Citizens Academy is coordinated by the Riverside Police Department’s Community Services Bureau and offers participants a unique opportunity to gain an insider’s perspective on the operations and functions of the police department.
Citizens Academy is designed to foster stronger relationships between the community and the department by providing participants with interactive presentations and direct interactions with sworn and professional staff. Attendees will learn about various aspects of law enforcement, including specialized community engagement units, department hiring processes, and more.
The academy runs from February 6, 2025, through April 17, 2025, with sessions held on Thursday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the department’s Magnolia Station, located at 10540 Magnolia Avenue, Suite B., Riverside, CA 92505.
Class size is limited to 50 participants, and seats will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis to applicants who successfully pass an informal background check. Applications will be accepted through January 23, 2025.
