Art in Public Places Application Form

Policies
1. Applications are accepted throughout the year. 2. All artwork submitted for consideration will be reviewed for suitability based on community standards and should be practical for a public space that is open to people of all ages. 3. Exhibits can be displayed for one calendar month, including set-up and removal. 4. Media must be gallery-ready with hanging hardware and wire installed. Work that is fragile or with questionable framing may be rejected for display. 5. Presentation hangers provided by the Library may be used and no physical changes of any kind may be made to walls or other Library property for installation or other purposes. 6. Additional artist-provided display materials like stands, display boards, etc. need prior authorization from the Library Manager. 7. For each artwork, a card or label must be displayed indicating title of work, artist’s name and medium. No prices may be displayed. 8. Artist is responsible for hanging and taking down his/her artwork according to agreed dates. 9. Artist and Library representative must review and agree to the condition of the artwork upon installation and at the end of the exhibition timeline. 10. If exhibit is not taken down by the pre-arranged date, artwork will be removed by staff and saved in a holding location for no longer than one week. If artwork is not picked up on time, the library will assume permanent ownership of the artwork. 11. Library staff is authorized to move, reschedule or cancel exhibits whenever needed. 12. Sales of artwork displayed in the Library must be conducted directly between buyer and artist. 13. The views expressed in the works exhibited at Osceola Library System are of the artists and not those of Osceola County, the Osceola Library System or its employees. 14. The Library may promote the exhibits via event guides, brochures, online calendar and other resources. 15. Permission to photograph, film or otherwise document the exhibit is considered granted via submission of this application.

Submission Guidelines
Artists must submit a digital entry for each work. All submissions must have following information: Name, Title, Medium, Size. Digital files should be labeled in the following format: LastNameFirstName_image# _ArtworkTitle.jpg. Example: SmithPat_3_ ManByLake.jpeg. Image files must be JPEG only.
