For over 40 years, the Ed Fund has recognized West Contra Costa Unified School District’s (WCCUSD) most outstanding teachers through the Teaching Excellence Awards (TEA), celebrating those who consistently go above and beyond to inspire and empower their students—inside and outside the classroom. These educators exemplify what it means to put students at the heart of the educational journey, fostering growth, curiosity, and resilience.
The Ed Fund is dedicated to honoring the tremendous work teachers across the West Contra Costa Unified School District have done—and continue to do—to support the diverse needs of our students. In every classroom, these exceptional teachers address the unique challenges faced by students, provide mentorship, and create inclusive learning environments where every student feels valued and capable of success.
This year, we are proud to announce the 2024-2025 Teaching Excellence Awards! The nomination form is now open, and we invite students, families, colleagues, and community members to recognize a teacher who has made a lasting impact. Please submit your nomination(s) by January 14, 2025.
Once all nominations are received, the selection process will begin. Our team will carefully review submissions to identify teachers whose dedication stands out, followed by in-class observations and interviews with finalists. We look forward to celebrating these remarkable educators who make a difference each day in the lives of their students and communities.
