The KAU Conservatory is a season long, tuition based program that will provide both performance and training opportunities. The KAU Conservatory program will include the following programs and services.

*This Conservatory production does not have open registration. Only students who have been accepted into the KAU Conservatory have guaranteed casting.

2026 Spring KAU Production: Matilda Jr.
*This KAU production has open registration. Auditions for this production will be for the experience and casting purposes only. All Conservatory students and anyone who registers/auditions is guaranteed casting.
Spring Production Auditions: Sunday, December 7th
First Rehearsal: Sunday, January 11th
Rehearsals: Sundays from 9:00-2:00pm
Shows: March 27th and 28th

Fall & Spring Masterclasses
One 1.5 hour masterclass will be offered for each semester and taught by community experts. Masterclass options could include audition prep, theater movement/dance, group vocals, stage combat, acting, or improv. Masters classes will either take place on a Sunday when not in production rehearsals, or on a Saturday within studio availability.
Private Voice Lessons
One 30-minute private voice lesson will be offered to each conservatory student, each semester. Private voice lessons will be scheduled with the KAU vocal coach and take place at the studio within studio availability.
Professional Headshot Package
Conservatory students will receieve a 1-hour headshot session with professional photographers. Package includes one retouched photo and a link to your personal gallery with the option to purchase additional photos through the photographer.
Conservatory Swag Bag
All Conservatory students will receive the following items to support them through their training and performance season.

ELIGIBILITY
The KAU Conservatory Program is open to grades 2-9. (Studio enrollment is not required.) This Registration Form must be completed in order to audition, and attendance at the in-person auditions on Sunday, August 17th are required for prorgam consideration. Auditionees are not guaranteed placement into the KAU Conservatory program.
CONFLICTS
It is very important that you list ALL conflicts on the audition form. This includes studio dance classes, school events, sports, appointments, vacations, etc. Any conflicts that arise that were not listed prior to program selection may not be approved or may result in a student being dismissed from the Conservatory program.
REGISTRATION INFORMATION
STEP 1: REGISTRATION
Reserve your audition appointment by submitting this registration form AND paying your non-refundable $20 audition fee.
STEP 2: AUDITIONS
KAU Conservatory auditions are by appointment only and will be held on Sunday, August 17th from 9:00am-11:30am. Please arrive at least 15 mins early. Make sure you have completed this online Registration Form and bring a current headshot. Please wear comfortable clothing you can move in.
STEP 3: AUDITION PREPARATION
Actors should prepare the following:
1. TWO 1-minute vocal auditions, one up tempo and one ballad. Songs must be performed with a backing track (karaoke track with no vocals); which can often be found on youtube.
2. One 30 second to 1-minute monologue
3. All actors should also be prepared to learn and perform a movement/dance combination at the audition.
STEP 4: ACCEPTANCE
All auditionees that are selected for the KAU Conservatory program will be notified on Sunday, August 17th by 5pm. Auditionees must pay their registration deposit, or establish their payment plan, by August 23rd in order to confirm their acceptance. Late registration deposits may result in the forfeit of acceptance into the KAU Conservatory program. All fees should be made through our parent portal, Jackrabbit. Accounts will be updated and emails sent after auditions - please contact the studio with any questions.

Two semester-based remaining balance payments of $650 each

Additional Fees
- Lost or damaged scripts - $25 replacement fee
- Garment bag/Storage bin - $30 fee (only for performers new to MPD/KAU)
- Additional production t-shirts - $25 each
- Other items that performers may need such as; tights, shoes, leotards, etc. will be shared at a later date if they need to be purchased.
All Payments/Fees are non-refundable and subject to additional late fees if payments are not made by their due date.
