Thank you for your interest in internships and/or job shadowing at The Boston Ability Center! Please read the important information found below about these opportunities at the BAC.
INTERNSHIPS:
- Internships at the Boston Ability Center are unpaid at this time.
- In order to be eligible for an internship, students must be able to affiliate the internship with a school (i.e. completing an internship for academic credit, completing it as part of a course project, and/or completing it as part of a school-approved independent study).
- During their time at the BAC, interns may complete tasks such as, but not limited to:
- Joining for/assisting during treatment sessions
- Observing
- Cleaning and organizing
- Setting up/transitioning treatment spaces between patients
- Activity and material prep
- Administrative tasks
- Our centers are open Monday-Thursday from 7am-6:30pm, Fridays from 7am-5:30pm, and Saturdays from 8-2:30pm. Internships are typically easiest to complete during our busy afternoon hours!
- A member of our team will review your request and be in touch if we have availability that meets your needs. If so, next steps would involve scheduling a time for an interview and contacting your references to ensure that an intership at the BAC is the right fit.
JOB SHADOWING:
- Job shadowing is typically offered to interested individuals for approximately 3 periods of time (ex: Mondays from 2:30-6:30 for 3 weeks). Our centers are open Monday-Thursday from 7am-6:30pm, Fridays from 7am-5:30pm, and Saturdays from 8-2:30pm. Shadowing is typically easiest to complete during our busy afternoon hours!
- Job shadowing does not need to be affiliated with a school
- Job shadowing consists primarily of observation, with some active invovlement in sessions at the treating clinician's discretion
