The Center for Regenerative Agriculture and Resilient Systems works to build healthy soils, farms, food systems and communities by connecting California farmers, ranchers and land managers with resources and knowledge aiding in the implementation of regenerative and climate smart practices. We provide technical and financial assistance in implementing established practices that sequester carbon, mitigate greenhouse gas emissions, improve soil health, protect native wildlife/beneficial invertebrate populations, and improve ecosystem health. All services are provided free of charge to successful applicants.
We are currently accepting applications from California soil-based farms, ranches and forestry enterprises for the following programs:
North Valley Food Hub for Climate Smart Agriculture (NVFH)
Successful participants in North Valley Food Hub receive direct funding and technical assistance from CRARS in planning and implementation of climate smart farming practices.
NRCS Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP)
RCPP participants receive technical assistance in conservation planning, design and implementation from CRARS and NRCS as well as assistance applying for implementation funds from the NRCS RCPP Program.
All applicants must be registered or willing to register with the Federal Farm Service Agency (FSA). https://www.fsa.usda.gov/
Continuing education, open communication and building a strong community of practice are keys to long term success in regenerative agriculture, climate smart farming and conservation land management and are at the core of our mission. Direct participation and cooperation from the owner / operator of the applicant farm, ranch or forestry enterprise is required, and this person must be listed as the Primary Contact below. In most cases, this will be the producer named on FSA documentation.
