  • 2025-2026 Theatre & Dance ACTIVITY SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
     
     We strongly prefer to receive recorded auditions. If a recording an audition is not possible, in-person auditions may be scheduled at the instructor’s convenience via email. Your application is not considered complete without an uploaded video recording. Applications will be evaluated by the Theatre or Dance faculty after November 15 and February 15. Students should expect a decision prior to March 1. Please submit your application as soon as possible. Students must be accepted as a Casper College student before a scholarship offer can be extended. Thank you for your interest in Casper College.
  • Casper College provides comprehensive instruction in the following applied areas:
     
    (Theatre and Dance Activity Awards are granted for no more than 4 semesters)

    Casper College Eligibility

    Recipients of institutionally funded activity scholarships must be full-time Casper College degree-seeking students.
    Scholarship offers can be made only to those students who have received their high school diploma or GED certificate by July 31 of the year in which the student intends to enroll and receive the scholarship.
    For first-year freshmen, scholarship offers may be made only to those students who have achieved 1) a cumulative high school GPA of 2.0 or better, 2) a composite GED score of 50 or better, or 3) have met the national eligibility standards for their specific activity.
    For students who are continuing at Casper College or transferring to Casper College, scholarship offers may be made only to those students who have 1) earned a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA), 2) met the national eligibility standards for their specific activity, and 3) must have their scholarship re-awarded each academic year.
    Unless national eligibility standards state otherwise, each student who is awarded a scholarship for both fall and spring semesters must earn a GPA of at least 2.0 during the fall semester to be eligible to receive the scholarship in the spring semester and successfully complete a minimum of 12 credit hours.
    Grade Point Average (GPA) and credit hour standards will be monitored by the Financial Aid Office after each semester has concluded and official grades have been posted.
  • Theatre & Dance Activity Scholarship Requirements
     
    These awards are made available to students so that the department of Theatre and Dance will have a talent pool for the purpose of producing plays and dance performances in the main season of each academic year. Recipients of the Theatre and Dance Activity Award, regardless of the amount of their award make up the core of this talent pool and are therefore required to be involved with each production. Therefore, Award Recipients are required to:

    Theatre/Musical Theatre & Technical Theatre Requirements

    Participate actively in all main season theatre and dance productions each semester, as needed. This requirement can be filled in the following ways:
    Auditioning and accepting  performance roles.
    Signing up for and accepting running crew positions.
    Signing up for and accepting build-crew positions.
    (If after auditioning and/or signing up for a technical assignment, the award recipient has not been chosen for an assignment, or, if productions overlap in rehearsal/performance in such a way as to make it impossible for a student to participate in all productions, the participation requirement will be deemed as having been fulfilled.)

    Non-majors must enroll in (1) 3 credit THEA class from the following list, each semester:THEA 1010, THEA 2160, THEA 2220, and THEA 2490
    Participate in strike of each production as called.
    In addition to the institutional requirement of an overall GPA of 2.0, award recipients must maintain a GPA of 2.5 in all THEA and DANC coursework, and all coursework required of the major.
    Make satisfactory progress towards degree completion and graduation.
    Behave in accordance with the Casper College Student Code of Conduct and the Theatre & Dance Student Handbook.
    Eligibility requirements may not be met by fulfilling work-study assignments.
     
    Dance Activity Scholarship Requirements

    Enroll as a Dance Major.
    Dance Scholarship recipients are required to participate actively in the Dance concert (DANC 1500), the musical, and Ensemble (DANC 1210/2210) each semester. This requirement can be filled in the following ways:
    Performing in the production.
    As a member of a production crew: stage management or assistant stage manager
    Dance Scholarship recipients are required to register in at least one DANC class per semester of enrollment.
    Participate in strike of each production as called.
    In addition to the institutional requirement of an overall GPA of 2.0, award recipients must maintain a GPA of 2.5 in all THEA and DANC coursework, and all coursework required of the major.
    Make satisfactory progress towards degree completion and graduation.
    Behave in accordance with the Casper College Student Code of Conduct and the Theatre & Dance Student Handbook.
    Eligibility requirements may not be met by fulfilling work-study assignments.
