  •  If you would like to enrol your child in individual or shared instrumental music lessons, please complete the following form and SUBMIT. A member of the Music Department will then be in touch to provide information about your child’s enrolment.

  • PLEASE NOTE:

    - Shared lessons are only available where the child has a partner organised.

    - Shared lessons are also only suitable for BEGINNER STUDENTS for a maximum period of 12 months. After this, students will need to change to individual lessons.

    - If one partner in a shared lesson is absent, this lesson cannot be made up as the teacher will still be required to teach the lesson with the student that is present.

    - The continuation of Year 5 Brass and Woodwind program group lesson are ONLY offered to students who have completed the Year 5 Band program within the last term and would like to continue learning their instruments.

  • TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENROLMENT

    1. Enrolment in instrumental music lessons is for a minimum of one semester (two terms);

    2. Fees for music lessons will be added to the school fees at the commencement of each semester as a separate item;

    3. Hire or instruments from Lighthouse Christian College is subject to availability. Where an instruments is NOT available, the family must hire an instrument from an external provider as soon as possible;

    4. Discontinuation of lessons may only occur at the END of semester (end of Term 2 or 4) and a minimum of ONE TERM’S NOTICE must be provided using the Discontinuation of Instrumental Music Lessons form on Seqta Engage. If adequate notice is not provided using this form, the child’s enrolment will roll over into the following semester and families will be charged accordingly;

    5. Year 11 and 12 students will be given priority for before school and lunchtime lessons (where available);

    6. Make-up lessons will only be given in certain circumstances (please read our policy regarding this in the Instrumental Music Enrolment booklet);

    7. The progress a child makes with their learning is largely determined by the frequency of their practice at home, rather than the length of their praxtice sessions. I will provide a quiet space for my child to practice frequently during the week (4-5 days), so as to best support my child in making progress on their instrument;

    8. Where possible, I will encourage and facilitate my child’s participation in an ensemble at Lighthouse Christian College, to help them consolidate their skills on their instrument.
