Presentation streams are used to support HAC’s goal for Hamilton Arts Week to represent a diverse range of arts programming for residents and visitors to engage with. Your activity description from Question 1 will be reviewed for alignment with the presentation stream you select..
Presentation streams include:
Collaborating or combining diverse artistic expressions or creative practices:Â These activities present a distinct coming-together of two (or more) artists or techniques that are (more commonly) featured independently from one another.
Community building and connecting:Â These activities prioritize inclusion by dismantling barriers and increasing access to creative expression. Example activities include forums for; advocacy, knowledge sharing, and skill development. Activities will facilitate an exchange between presenters and attendees.
Innovating approaches or exploring compelling themes:Â These activities may feature radical, inspiring, or provocative works that foster a critical dialogue within the artistic community. These activities are characterized by their inclination to challenge and transcend traditional boundaries and conventions, pushing the limits of artistic expression to explore new dimensions and perspectives.
Indigenous artists, themes and audiences: These activities are presented by Indigenous artists/delivery teams. They may be events with Indigenous central themes or content, or activities that specifically engage Indigenous audiences.
Reimagining spaces, places and zones:Â These activities may include artistic practices presented in unconventional venues, or site specific works that are rooted in the significance of location. Activities may highlight lesser-known or new venues, or may include multiple venues which highlight a range of locations.
*Applications submitted within the same presentation stream will undergo a comparative review process.
