  • Some things have changed with the Training Grant, so our updated videos for 2025 let you know about the slightly longer lead time, the higher earning cap, and the higher grant amount as well as the details of what's available through the Training Grant and who's eligible for it.

    This e-learning course includes 4 short videos and 3 sets of questions. 

    Viewing all the videos and answering all the questions should take about 30 minutes total to complete.

  • In most cases, the RochesterWorks Training Grant is a one-time only grant.
  • If you are receiving Unemployment Insurance payments, you may be eligible for the grant as a dislocated worker.
  • If you are unsure whether you are eligible, you should not bother applying for the grant.

    Eligible Training Provider Search 

     

    The Training Grant Application will be sent to you along with your Certificate of completion.

  • Associate degree programs cannot be funded by the RochesterWorks Training Grant.
  • If you want funding for an occupation not on the demand occupations list, you should contact a training counselor first.
  • If we are unable to approve your training grant before the program starts, we may still be able to fund future semesters or terms.
  • You should contact RochesterWorks for a training grant appointment at least 8 weeks before your training program starts.
  • You should wait until your RochesterWorks training grant is approved before you start the application process for enrollment with the school.
  • If approved for a training grant, you will sign a training enrollment agreement documenting your responsibility to maintain funding.
