Once all parts of the registration packet, waivers, medical forms, applicable fees, etc. have been submitted, players can assume they are cleared for practice unless otherwise notified.

IN CONSIDERATION OF BEING ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN ANY OF LEGACY CHRISTIAN ACADEMY'S PROGRAMS:

1) I acknowledge and agree that by virtue of participation, participants risk bodily injury including loss and/or damage to personal property.
2) I acknowledge and freely assume all such risk for my child and for myself and family members, and I agree to inform my child that he/she must follow all safety rules, procedures, and behavior policies.
3) I release and hold harmless Legacy Christian Academy in its entirety and their agents, officers, owners, or employees from any and all liability in conjunction with the participation in the sport.
4) If the above named student needs emergency treatment, and neither a parent nor the emergency contact can be contacted, consent is hereby granted for such emergency treatment as may be considered necessary in the opinion of the attending physician.
5) This agreement is binding on my heirs, personal representatives, next of kin, spouse, and assigns.
6) It is the responsibility of the parent to make arrangements for travel to off-campus practices, games, competitions, and performances.
7) I agree to pay associated activity fees and agree that I am responsible to maintain and return materials, uniforms, and/or equipment required for activities that have been provided by Legacy Christian Academy.
8) All fees and payments are non-refundable.
9) I certify that, to the best of my knowledge, my child's current physical condition is satisfactory for participation in the program and agree to inform school personnel, in writing, of any health conditions or concerns prior to registration. Please note that individuals with health conditions such as (but not limited to) chronic allergies such as asthma, seizures, or epilepsy, may not participate until a medical clearance by a physician has been submitted to school personnel or a waiver is granted by school administration.
10) I, the undersigned parent/legal guardian of the above mentioned student, do hereby give permission for said student to participate in the extracurricular activity, club, or athletics program as applicable, including practices, games, and travel associated with these activities.
11) The above named student participating is in good academic standing (GPA of 2.0 and above) in all core classes and is not failing any class. I may be asked to provide current transcripts at any given time during participation.

Legacy Christian Academy reserves the right to excuse any student/person due to disruptive, demeaning, dangerous, or disrespectful behavior, on the part of said student and/or their parent/guardian and/or a family member directed towards staff and/or other students which negatively affects the group environment, and without monetary compensation for lost enrollment time.

Staff, faculty, and Board Members of Legacy Christian Academy embrace the historic tenets of Christianity  as presented in the following Statement of Faith. Beyond these primary doctrines, we respect and  acknowledge many secondary doctrinal questions exist among the true Body of Christ. We defer to parents  and their local Bible-believing churches to clarify these issues. 

 

We believe that to fulfill our mission and ministry, it is essential that the members of our  community share in both the hope of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and certain truths and principles taught by the Scriptures. As a community of faith, therefore, we unapologetically proclaim and believe the following that are considered primary truths of Legacy Christian Academy.

 

Creation: We believe God miraculously and directly created all things. He brought all created things into existence out of nothing, designing them according to His good pleasure and wisdom. The origin of the universe, the origin of life, the origin of all kinds of living things, and the origin of humans cannot be explained adequately apart from God’s divine power. We reject any form of evolution, including Theistic Evolution, as an adequate model to explain the origin of the creation.

 

The Bible: We believe the Scriptures, consisting of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, to be the only inerrant, infallible, and authoritative Word of God in their original texts, and that it is, therefore, sufficient and the final authority in matters of life, faith, and practice. We believe that the Bible derives its authority from God, its author, and not from the opinions of men.  (2 Timothy 3:16, 2  Peter 1:3,20-21)

 

The Trinity: We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; John 10:30; Colossians  2:9; 2 Corinthians 13:14) 

God the Father: We believe the Father is fully God, the Author of salvation, and begotten of none. His fatherhood is eternal and personal. He is the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, and of all who believe in Christ.  (Genesis 1:1; 2 Corinthians 1:3; Ephesians 4:4-6; 2 Corinthians 6:18) 

God the Son: We believe in the true deity and full humanity of Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His penal substitutionary and atoning death, salvation and payment for sins through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His coming return.  (Matthew 1:18-25; John 1:1-2, 14; 3:16-18; Acts 1:9-11; Romans 5:8-11; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Ephesians 1:20-23; Philippians 2:5-11; Hebrews 4:14-15; 7:25;  1 Thessalonians 4:16-17) 

God the Holy Spirit: We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells all believers. He, likewise, convicts of sin, causes spiritual birth, seals, increases desires for righteousness and obedience, leads in truth, brings assurance, empowers, and gives spiritual gifts to the church. (John 3:3-8; 14:16-17; 16:7- 11; 1 Corinthians 2:13; 12:11-13; 2 Peter 1:20-21) 

Human Nature: We believe all people are created in the image of God, to be like Him in character. As a result of Adam’s transgression, everyone is born with an inherited sinful nature.  Our sin alienates us from God, makes us liable for His judgment, and ultimately results in eternal death apart from God. (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans  1:18-23; 3:23; 5:12; 6:23; Ephesians 2:1-3) 

Salvation: We believe it is a gift of God to man by grace and received by faith alone that through Christ’s death on the cross, where He took our sin upon Himself, and His resurrection, where He defeated death once and for all, that we can be made right with God on the basis of Christ’s imputed righteousness and atoning death. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ alone, our only mediator between God and man, can we be forgiven for our sin, overcome our separation from God, and be saved from God’s judgment. At salvation, we are justified by God; meaning that we are declared positionally righteous before God because of our identification with Jesus Christ. (John 1:12-13; 6:37-40; 10:28-30; Ephesians 1:7, 13; 2:8-9; 1 John 5:11-13) 

The Church: We believe that believers comprise the Church which is the Family of God, the Body of Christ and the Temple of the Holy Spirit, and that it is expressed in local churches. It was created by God to display His glory on the earth by reaching out to people who do not know Him, lifting up worship to Him, loving one another as His family, growing in maturity to be like Christ, and serving each other in His name. (Matthew  26:26-29; 28:18-20; Acts 2:42-47; 1 Corinthians 12:1-27; Ephesians 1:22-23; 3:10;  Colossians 1:18; 1 John 3:14-18) 

 

The Christian Life: We believe it is God’s will that through the Holy Spirit, we continually grow in grace, in obedience, and in our love for Him until we get to heaven and are made perfect in Christ. (Romans 6:1-8; 1 Corinthians 6:11; Philippians 1:6, 2:13) 

 

Eternity: We believe in the bodily resurrection of all people. We believe in a literal heaven and hell, and that all men will either spend eternity under God’s just and holy judgment along with Satan or in His glorious presence. (Job 1:6-7; Isaiah 14:12-17; Daniel 12:2; Matthew 4:2-11; 25:31, 41, 46; John 5:28-29; 1 Corinthians 15:51-52; 2 Thessalonians 1:9)

 

As a community seeking to submit to one another out of a love for Christ, we also believe…

1. Life within the Christian community must be lived for the glory of God, daily conforming ourselves to the image of Christ, and recognizing the lordship of Christ in all aspects of  our shared work.i 
2. A steadfast love for and accountability to Jesus and His people should motivate our  actions in this community of believers.ii 
3. As saints and fellow ministers of Christ, we each bear responsibility for serving and loving one another.iii 
4. The words and actions of the faculty, staff, students, and parents in our community are  often not a private matter. We are called to pray for each other and for each other’s  welfare, go to each other in love when conflict or concerns arise, and hold each other  accountable for the consequences of our attitudes and conduct.iv
5. Each member of our community is responsible for their own behavior as it reflects upon the Lord, the school community, and themselves, particularly in the area of personal  freedom where discretion, moderation, and restraint should be practiced.v 
6. Attaining common goals and order in community life often calls us to subordinate our  individual prerogatives. Christian freedom also includes the choosing not to do some things in order to contribute to the common spiritual and emotional good of the  impressionable students and families we serve as well as to promote the betterment of the Christian community of which we are a part.vi 
7. We should endeavor and encourage one another to bear the fruit of the Spirit—love,  joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.vii 
8. Every person—regardless of tribe, language, or nation—should be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity.viii  Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes  toward any person are not in accord with the Bible and should not be tolerated. 
9. We should strive and encourage one another to overcome pride, covetousness, envy, lust, and immodesty, as all are destructive to the unity of the Body of Christ.ix 
10. We should seek to edify each other and our community by sharing the all surpassing  peace of Christ, avoiding slander, gossip, and discord and refusing to act out of selfish  ambition, arrogance, anger, or a complaining spirit.x 
11. All human life is sacred, begins at conception, and is created by God in His image.xi Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the  aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from  conception through natural death. 
12. God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as either biologically male or biologically female. These two distinct, complementary sexes, together reflect the image and nature of God.  A biological male or biological female is evident  in human reproductive biology.  Thus, sex is binary, fixed at conception, and objectively verifiable.  Although the word “gender” in the past served as a euphemism for sex, the word “gender” has been redefined and re-designated as a social construct and should not be confused with biological male-female sex.  A social constructivists’ view of the word “gender” is used in gender identity theory as a fluid, subjectively defined continuum of “genders” that range from male to female to something else.  Some individuals reject their biological sex and relying on a gender identity theory, claim to be the opposite sex or other.  In so doing, this social constructivists’ view rejects God’s design and the person He created as either a biological male or biological female.xii 
13. God instituted the glorious gift of marriage, a covenant relationship between one man  and one woman only, with the husband born male and the wife born female.xiii  
14. God designed sexual intimacy to occur only between one man and one woman who are  married to each other. We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual  activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman.xiv 
15. All forms of profanity, dishonesty, theft, drunkenness, sexual immorality (including but not limited to adultery, homosexual behavior or activity, incest, pedophilia, bestiality, fornication, the creation/distribution/viewing/use of pornography), or any promotion or efforts to alter one’s biological sex or identify as a different biological sex are inconsistent with the teachings of Scripture, are destructive to our souls, sinful, and offensive to God.xv 
16. God offers redemption and restoration to all who repent, confess their sin, and seek His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ.xvi 

 

We believe that to preserve the integrity and mission of Legacy Christian Academy as a Christian discipleship school and ministry, and to provide a biblical example to those within and outside our community, all Legacy employees, volunteers, co-teachers, and parents must subscribe and affirm that they have read, agree with, and will abide by these Statements of Faith, Life, and Conduct to be qualified and eligible to participate in the programs and mission of Legacy Christian Academy.xvii 

 

These Statements do not, however, define the boundaries of our fellowship, care, or attention. Nor are they an excuse for indifference or a reason to refuse extending mercy, kindness, compassion, and love—in word and deed—to all who suffer from the brokenness of a fallen  world. As fellow sinners, the gospel calls us to walk in humility, clinging to the cross of Christ for  salvation and not to claims of moral superiority or self-righteousness. These Statements,  therefore, are far from rigid standards that demand absolute perfection. Rather, they are  intended as a shared set of beliefs, expectations, and ideals to agree upon, proclaim, and  pursue. If any member of our community finds themselves out of accord with these beliefs or  pursuing practices contrary to these Statements, they should speak with an appropriate  member of the faculty or administration to determine whether their beliefs and practices can be reconciled with those of Legacy Christian Academy. 

 

These Statements do not exhaust the extent of our beliefs and standards.xviii The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God that speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind, is the sole and final source of all that we believe.  However, for purposes of Legacy Christian Academy’s faith, doctrine, practice, policy, and discipline, the Legacy Christian Academy School Board of Directors and Board of Trustees is the final interpretative authority on the Bible’s meaning and application.

 

Non-Denominational Position 

This ministry's Statement of Faith is fundamental to basic Christian tenets and contains those  doctrines to which we unreservedly adhere and teach. It is our desire to maintain this position and  to do so in all fairness to each family. In honoring this desire concerning the outreach of this ministry, there shall be no attempt made by parents, students, staff, or school board members to promote or disparage any doctrinal or denominational beliefs, practices, or positions regarding issues upon which the ministry itself has assumed no official stance. Included are denominational positions regarding: 

1. Church government-authority
2. Time and mode of baptism
3. Security of the believer
4. Timing of future events
5. Second work of grace – baptism of the Holy Spirit 
6. Sinless perfection 
7. Gift of the Spirit – tongues, interpretation of tongues, healing, miracle working, discerning of Spirits

Legacy Christian Academy 

Notice of Non Discriminatory Policy as to Students 

Legacy Christian Academy, in accordance with applicable federal and state laws,  does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin. This  nondiscrimination policy covers admission, access, and operation of Legacy  Christian Academy’s programs and activities.

LCA has set a “Code of Student Citizenship” based on Scripture, academic environment, expectations of mutual respect, love and encouragement for each student and staff member. All students are expected to abide by the Code of Student Citizenship. Teachers will set clear expectations and a system of management to encourage successful citizenship among students.

1. God is holy and His name is to be revered. Students are expected to demonstrate respect toward worship, prayer and class discussions of the Lord God.

2. Respect toward authority is biblically mandated and critical to shaping a child’s life. Students will obey their parents, school policy and instructions from the LCA staff.

3. Truth is commanded by God and is the core of all meaningful relationships. Students will demonstrate honesty with each other, the LCA staff, parents and community.

4. Diligence is part of excellence in education. In Colossians 3:23 we are called to “do our work heartily, as to the Lord, and not to man.” Our goal for Legacy students is that they will learn to work diligently, striving to do their best at all times because “it is the Lord Jesus Christ whom [we] serve.”

5. Self-discipline and gratitude are important when working with others. Students will be prompt in their arrival to class and school activities. Students will refrain from actions that distract others from their academic endeavors. Students will refrain from harmful and rough physical contact with other students such as hitting, punching, tripping, wrestling etc.

6. Our bodies are the temple of God. Students will care about their health and well-being. The possession and use of drugs, alcohol, tobacco or weapons is strictly prohibited.

7. God expects man to be stewards of their thoughts and words. Students will refrain from language and actions which are vulgar, inappropriate and demeaning to God and others. Teasing, criticizing, put-downs, insults and name-calling are not permitted.

8. Good stewards are responsible for God’s provision. The physical facilities and school materials are part of God’s provision for each of us. Students are expected to treat all school materials (e.g. textbooks) and facilities with respect and care. Students are expected to be aware of and avoid the off-limit areas of the building and grounds. Students are expected to keep the school’s campus neat and clean. Chewing gum is prohibited on school grounds.

9. Focus and learning are keys to academic success. Certain forms of recreation can distract students from their educational pursuits. Therefore, personal electronic devices for games, music and other toys are not permitted on school grounds.

10. iPads and laptops may only be used on campus when directed by the classroom teacher and approved by the Administrator. Electronic devices will be stored with the classroom teacher and may not be kept in student crates. Cell phones will not be allowed for any purposes on campus for students in grades K-8. Cell phones are a privilege for High School students. High School instructors may have students access cell phones for instructional purposes. High School students are expected to use their cell phones for communication and educational purposes. Misuse of cell phones will result in loss of privilege and confiscation of the phone.

11. Holiness and Purity are biblical principles of conduct. Students shall refrain from all forms of inappropriate sexual behavior. All sexual activity, including fornication, viewing of pornography and homosexuality, is forbidden among LCA students. Public displays of affection (e.g. holding hands, kissing, etc) are not permitted on school grounds.

12. Spiritual disciplines (e.g. prayer, worship, Bible study and fellowship) are essential to Christian growth and discipleship. At Legacy, we desire that all students will grow to maintain a daily relationship with Christ and be active with their families in a local Bible teaching church.

13. Students and parents serve as ambassadors for Christ and representatives of the school. It is expected that students and parents will conduct themselves accordingly at all times, whether they are at school or away from school. Families should be aware of the potential for harm when using public social media sites and exercise caution and restraint.
