The student must be a Muslim belonging to the "Ahle Sunnah Wa Jama'at".

Applicants must demonstrate formal understanding of the basics of Islamic studies needed to study at the graduate level through graduation from a TISA recognized program or through an assessment by a TISA faculty member.
- The student must complete the TISA admission application and be approved by the Admissions Committee.

The student must fulfill the academic requirements set by TISA Academic Council (a B- or better in all courses).

After successful completion of the courses and after acquiring the diploma, the graduate must commit to serving the Muslim community in a leadership capacity within North America for a period of 2 years. This service can be volunteer or paid for a minimum of 20 hours per week.

Students must take at least 2 courses per semester in the Fall and Spring. In addition, students may apply the full scholarship to courses in the summer terms.
