  • You must be a member of Cedar Valley Cyclists. CVC membership is separate from the RAGBRAI charter. If you are not already a member, you must apply to be a member of CVC and pay the membership dues to join our charter. There are no auto-renews or ongoing commitments. The membership requirement is due to insurance and liabilities.

    The Dream Team uses the power of a bicycle to help youth develop a positive approach to life's challenges.  https://www.dreamteamdesmoines.org/

    Dream Team Des Moines is a non-profit organization in central Iowa. We provide young adults with opportunities to build confidence, set goals, and create a healthy lifestyle through mentor-based interactions centered around bicycling.

    ​In March, a team of 50-60 teenagers start their 5 month journey to RAGBRAI, a week-long bike ride across Iowa that occurs each July. The riders work with caring volunteers to set goals, work hard, and DREAM BIG!

    The bicycle is used as a tool to inspire and motivate young people, encourage lifelong wellness, and build confidence through accomplishment. Completing a 400+ mile bike ride across the state gives the participant a tangible sense of achievement, as well as a framework for setting and achieving life goals.

    All riders must sign below: (if under 18, parent/guardian must sign).
    “I agree to hold CEDAR VALLEY CYCLISTS, INC. harmless in regard to all liability for any damage to real or personal property, including any loss or damage to my bicycle, accessories, luggage and/or gear during transportation to and from, or participation in RAGBRAI LII and for any loss of life, or any personal injury which may be sustained in connection with RAGBRAI LII."

    "I further agree, in the event I must CANCEL my CVC RAGBRAI Charter reservation:
    The per person cancellation fee is as follows:
    Before May 1 - $35
    May 1-May 31 - $45
    June 1-15 - $55
    After June 15 - NO refunds (Trip insurance is strongly recommended and is available through various carriers.)
    Refund is dependent on reselling the package to another participant and a refund is NOT guaranteed.
    I also understand that all participants with Cedar Valley Cyclists' charter must be CVC members and must be registered with RAGBRAI.”
