Application Process

• Application form should be completed with as much detail as possible.
• To be eligible, application forms are required to be submitted, prior to the closing date for each semester.
• Central Regional TAFE staff may assist students in completing the application form, if required.
• Completed application form must be submitted via Jotforms.
• If you are applying for multiple scholarships, please select all that you are eligible for in the course details section of this form. 

You are only required to complete this form once to be considered for multiple scholarships. 

 

Awarding the Scholarships

• Scholarships are awarded to successful applicants, via a selection process.
• The successful applicants will receive financial assistance, which will be paid once the recipient has met the following criteria:

a)       Approved enrolment in an eligible course at your chosen campus;

b)      Attendance and participation in the course is confirmed; and

c)       If the student withdraws from the course, within the first six weeks, the amount of scholarship paid towards fees will not be returned to the student, it will be returned to the scholarship budget.

• To support regional students, if the student requires the scholarship funds to pay their residential accommodation, Central Regional TAFE will pay this directly (TAFE residential or private accommodation).   

 

Selection process

• A selection panel is formed to consider applications.
• Applications are ranked, via a selection matrix, based on the information provided.
• Applicants’ referees may be contacted for further information about the applicant.
• Applicants may be contacted by phone, if the panel requires additional information.
• Short-Listed applicants may be interviewed by a selection panel and asked a range of questions, relating to their application, current and future study, community involvement and employment goals.

Australian Vanadium Ltd are offering a $500.00 scholarship opportunity to full-time students studying in Health or Education courses, during semester one and two.

Beach Energy Australia are offering five $1000.00 scholarship opportunities to full-time students, enrolled in courses relating to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) at the Geraldton campuses, during semester one. 

Geraldton Community Bank® Branch Bendigo Bank are offering one $1,000.00 scholarship and one $500.00 scholarship opportunity to a full-time student enrolled in any course during semester one and semester two. 

City of Greater Geraldton are offering one $1,000.00 scholarship opportunity to a full-time student enrolled in the Certificate IV in Community Services & Youth Work during semester one. 

GMA Garnet are offering two $1,000.00 scholarship opportunities to full-time students, enrolled in Conservation and Ecosystem Management, Environmental Monitoring and Technology, Laboratory Studies, Electrotechnology and Engineering courses during semester one and two. 

MITSUI E&P Australia are offering several $1,000.00 scholarship opportunities to full-time Indigenous students, enrolled in courses relating to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) at the Geraldton campus, including Pre-Apprenticeships Electrical, Engineering and other Trade related programs, Industrial Skills, Resource and Infrastructure, Information Technology, Work Preparation/Literacy and Numeracy courses as well as Sustainability and Environmental. 

Mid-West Development Commission are offering one $500.00 scholarship opportunity to a full-time student enrolled in the Certificate IV Information Technology during semester one. 

Rio Tinto are offering several $750.00 scholarships to selected full-time Aboriginal students enrolled in any course at Central Regional TAFE’s Midwest or Gascoyne campuses during semesters one and two.

RSM Geraldton are offering one $500.00 scholarship opportunity to a student enrolled in any Accounting and Bookkeeping course at Central Regional TAFE Geraldton during semester one. 

St John of God Geraldton Hospital are offering one $1,000.00 scholarship opportunity to a full-time student enrolled in the Certificate IV in Preparation for Health and Nursing & Diploma of Nursing during semester one.

Soroptimist International Midwest are offering one $750.00 scholarship opportunity for women of all ages, enrolled in any full-time course during semester one and two, that are: 

• Experiencing financial harship and; 
• are not in receipt of another scholarship. 

STAY (Short Term Accommodation for Youth) are offering one $500.00 scholarship to any full-time student enrolled in the Diploma of Community Services, Youth Work or Counselling Course during semester one. 

Western Power are offering several $800.00 scholarship opportunities to full-time students enrolled in the Certificate II in Electrotechnology (Career Start) Pre-Apprenticeship during semester one and two. 

There are currently no scholarships available to this region.
