I do my best to accommodate time preferences, though my schedule is usually quite full! Students in K-3 must attend lessons outside of school time. Students in years 4-6 may attend lessons during class time after second break on Mondays and Wednesdays.

I am committed to providing high quality music education to students of all levels and abilities. I have experience working with neurodivergent students and students with disabilities, many of whom excel in and/or love to play music. It is best for me to be aware of any challenges my students face and any strategies that work best in order to optimise the learning experience of each student. You might also like to share some musical background information if your child has previous musical experience, or other things they enjoy to give me a sense of what kinds of things excite and inspire your child. Feel free to add any particular goals your child would like to work towards as well.

When you enrol in the music tuition program, I reserve capacity in my schedule specifically for your child and I will not give this capacity away to anyone else. This means that missed lessons cannot be rescheduled but you can rest assured that your money will still be working for you because my carefully structured approach to teaching ensures your child will continue to develop their skills between lessons. In addition to your child's lesson time, the capacity I set aside for you includes planning, preparation, administration, and communication. I maintain regular communication with all families so that you can best support your child's learning through effective and simple home practice and to keep you up to date on your child's progress. The annual tuition amount allows for occasional teacher absences due to unforeseen circumstances such as illness.

An invoice for the school term will be sent prior to the start of the term and payment is due before the first lesson of term. If you need longer than the due date or to set up a payment plan, please contact me before the invoice due date (otherwise a late payment fee may be charged, and lessons may be discontinued until the invoice is paid). Payment can be made by direct deposit or credit card. Term rates are subject to change at the beginning of each financial year but will not change more than once a year.

Enrolment in the music tuition program is on an annual basis, with equal payment instalments each term. Should you or I wish to discontinue lessons during the annual program, one term's notice is required. This allows me to make the lesson time available to another student and to wrap up lessons in a logical way for the student.

To secure your child's place in the music tuition program for 2025, there will be a $100 lesson reservation deposit per student. Once I have confirmed your child's enrolment, I will send an invoice with the deposit amount. Upon receipt of the deposit payment, I will reserve capacity in my schedule specifically for your child in 2025. The deposit amount will be deducted from the term one fees. If you withdraw from lessons before the start of term one, the deposit will be forfeited.

High school students attend lessons during school time on a rotating roster so they do not miss part of the same subject each week. This also means there is some flexibility to reschedule lessons around school assessments and excursions if sufficient notice is given. A minimum of one week's notice is required to switch a lesson time.

To make the most of lessons, it is important for students to play their instrument at home during the week. I let students know each lesson what they need to practise at home. I also record this in lesson notes, which I email to families, and these are also accessible on the student portal. Home practice is always a consolidation of what we have worked on in the lesson, so students will know what they need to do and how to do it. Most students enjoy playing their instrument at home but sometimes need some adult support to remember to do it at first! I am always happy to support students and families to establish effective and enjoyable home practice routines.

I have an online portal where students and families can keep track of students' attendance and can view lesson notes, which include details of what students need to practise at home each week. I may also email links to resources such as sheet music, chord charts or recordings for students to access via this portal.

Guitar students need to bring their own instrument to lessons. If your child does not yet have an instrument, I can recommend a suitable one. Guitar students should also have their own electronic tuner or tuning app so they can tune their guitar at home. From time to time, students may need to purchase books or sheet music, or need to bring a display folder for printed sheet music and chord charts. Students will need to bring their relevant books/folders to lessons.
