Call for Submissions: Embers

Submission Guidelines

• Twenty Bellows limits submissions to residents (full and part-time) of Colorado and Wyoming. 
• We welcome submissions of:
  • Prose - Including fiction, nonfiction, and essays up to 5,000 words. Excerpts of longer work are admissible, provided the work stands on its own. 
  • Poetry - One (1) poem of no longer than 100 lines. Please do not submit concrete poems or poems with specialized formatting unless they are created using our provided Word template.
  • Artwork—We accept artwork of nearly any variety as long as it is submitted as a high-resolution scan. Please do not submit AI-generated images, pornographic imagery, or video content.
• All genres are allowed, with the exception of fanfiction and erotica.
• Submissions primarily in English are preferred. However, exceptions may be made at our discretion. If submitting in a language other than English, please note this is your cover letter.
• All submissions must be original works of the contributor. We do not accept AI-generated work. 
• We strictly prohibit hate speech, plagiarism, and libel in all forms. Any submission that violates this rule will be immediately disqualified.
• Please format your written submission using the Word template we have provided for this Call for Submissions.
• Submissions must not include any identifying information in the body of the document.
• The file name of your submission should be presented in the following format: “Title of Your Piece_Embers_Date.docx”
• Along with your submission, please include a short biography of yourself (no more than 150 words) written in the third person.
• By submitting your work, you grant us the right to publish your work in the "Embers" anthology, both in print and digital format. You retain the copyright to your work and may republish it elsewhere after the anthology is released.
• Simultaneous submissions are accepted with notice.
• There is no fee to submit work.
• Individual feedback is not guaranteed, but requests for such may be noted in your cover letter.
• Accepted writers will not receive cash compensation for their contribution but will receive a complimentary copy of the anthology and have access to discounted author copies.
• The submission deadline for the anthology is January 10, 2025.

1. This work is entirely of my own creation and does not violate the intellectual property of any other person. 
2. This work has not been generated by AI.
3. I have not included any identifying information in the document files(s).
4. If previously published, I have full rights to submission for every piece attached.
5. I have reviewed and agree to the submission guidelines above.
6. I understand that by completing and submitting this form, I grant Twenty Bellows, LLC the ability to reproduce, market, and share my work in "We are the West: Embers," on social media, and online. 
7. I understand that all work submitted will be selected through a blind review and that I may not receive individualized feedback for my work.
