Official Megabyte Nation Cosplay Contest Rules:
Eligibility
Participants must register for the contest in advance. Walk-ins may be allowed if space permits.
Age restrictions: All entrants must be at least 16 years of age or older.
Contestants must be attendees of the event and have a valid event badge or ticket.
Costume Requirements
Costumes must adhere to the event’s general dress code and decency standards (No nudity, keep it family friendly).
At least 50% of the costume must be handmade or significantly altered by the contestant to qualify for craftsmanship awards.
Store-bought costumes are allowed for performance-only categories but not for craftsmanship judging.
No live animals, real weapons, or dangerous materials (e.g., sharp objects, flammable substances).
Props must comply with the event’s prop safety policy (e.g., peace-bonding for fake weapons).
Performance Rules
Skits and performances must not exceed [3 minutes] unless otherwise specified.
No use of offensive language, gestures, or content (e.g., vulgarity, hate speech, or explicit themes).
Music or audio must be pre-approved and provided by the specified deadline (1/8/25).
Contestants must arrive at least [10 minutes] before their scheduled performance time.
Judging and Awards
Judges will evaluate costumes and performances based on pre-defined criteria (e.g., creativity, craftsmanship, stage presence).
The decisions of the judges are final and cannot be contested.
Categories may include: Best in Show, Best Craftsmanship, Best Group, Best Performance, etc.
Safety Policies
All props and costumes must allow for safe movement in public spaces.
Pyrotechnics, open flames, or smoke effects are strictly prohibited.
Contestants must follow all instructions from event staff and security personnel.
Registration and Deadlines
Registration closes [1/9/25] or when the participant cap is reached.
Participants must check in at the designated area on the day of the contest.
Failure to meet deadlines for submitting materials (e.g., audio tracks, reference images) may result in disqualification.
Behavior
Contestants must maintain good sportsmanship and respect other participants, judges, and staff.
Harassment, bullying, or disruptive behavior will result in immediate disqualification and possible removal from the event.
Photography and Media
By entering the contest, participants agree to be photographed or recorded by the event staff for promotional purposes.
Contestants may not demand removal of photographs or recordings taken during the event.
Disqualification
The event organizers reserve the right to disqualify any participant for failing to comply with the rules or for conduct deemed inappropriate.

Event organizers reserve the right to modify the rules at any time. Participants will be notified of any changes.
