Training & Expectations
In this role, Coordinators are student representatives of USMC and are expected to uphold the mission and values of the University.
The Coordinators will be supported by the Campus Life Coordinator in their leadership of the program throughout the year, which begins immediately following their selection. Please be aware that before September 2025, the Coordinators’ availability will be required for involvement in the following activities:
Spring-Summer Expectations
- Attend a spring Transition meeting
- Contribute to program strategy and development
- Weekly meetings beginning in March
- Attend St. Michael's College Leadership Retreat Training (May overnight)
- Divisional training with Campus Life Coordinator
- Participation in LEAD Training (including SafeTalk)
- Interview/hire and supervise Senior Mentor portfolios
- Interview and hire mentor leaders
- Manage mentee application process and groupings
- Co-coordinate summer e-mentorship
- Plan and facilitate Mentorship Orientation
Monthly Time Commitment: 20-24 hours
Fall-Winter Expectations
- Supervise the Senior Mentor activity portfolios (Internal Affairs, Communications, Event Coordinators)
- Co-facilitate bi-weekly senior mentor team meetings
- Implement systems of program evaluation
- Represent the program within the larger university environment (welcome days etc.)
- Attend weekly team meetings (8 hours/month)
Monthly Time Commitment: 10-15 hours
