College Union Application

Dear College Union Applicant:

We are excited by your interest in being part of the 2025-2026 College Union board! CU exists to serve the Lord by providing opportunities and experiences for rest, play, and fellowship for students at Wheaton College. The board consists of the President and twelve additional positions: Business Manager, Public Relations (2), Graphics Designer, Event Coordinators (4), Student Arts Coordinator, Concerts Manager, Student Music Coordinator and Audiovisual Technician.

There are 3 stages to the interview process: (1) application, (2) inidividual interview, and (3) group interview.

APPLICATION: All information received both in your application and references are confidential. The complete application is due by Friday, March 7th at 5:00pm. You will be notified by March 7th on whether you are invited to an individual interview. The complete application consists of the application form and two references (one from a faculty member or staff person and one from a peer). It is your responsibility to email your reference forms and make sure your references have completed by March 7th.

INDIVIDUAL INTERVIEW: All applicants will be notified about moving forward in the interview process no later than March 17th. We will be in touch via email about scheduling interviews. Interviews will take place the weeks of March 17th-25th. Please come to the interview with a creative expression of yourself by showing what can be done with a simple paper bag. Your only guideline is to be creative. If you are selected for an interview, you can pick up your paper bag at the front desk of the ICAM office . Thank you for your cooperation!

In applying for this student leadership position with College Union, I agree without reservation to abide by the expectations of this organization, which are communicated in the job description, internal operation manual/handbook, and the student programming guide, and to reaffirm my commitment to Wheaton College and our Community Covenant. I understand that College Union is a part of Wheaton College and seeks to serve Christ and advance His Kingdom. I understand that I will not be permitted to serve if I am on academic probation, disciplinary probation or if my cumulative GPA falls below 2.5. I understand that I may not be able to serve if I am on chapel probation. Students on chapel probation will require permission from a Student Development Dean to serve. I agree to voluntarily resign my position if I am or later become subject to academic, disciplinary, or chapel probation.

I also acknowledge that a student must also be cleared to serve as a student leader by various departments on campus, including: the Chaplain’s Office, Residence Life/Student Conduct, Registrar’s Office, Equity & Title IX, Student Care Services, and Student Wellness. I agree to cooperate in any process initiated by these offices resulting from information arising out of this clearance process.

A note about interviews:

All applicants will be notified about next steps after we've reviewed all applications. If you are offered an in-person interview, you will be emailed a scheduling link to sign up for an interview time. You will attend one interview session which will be between 20 and 30 minutes.

If you are not selected to move forward in the interview process, please know that these decisions are never easy as the amount of qualified applicants always exceeds the amount of available cabinet positions.
