Foster AGREES to care for and love ANY foster dog/cat given to them by Ruff Road Revival (RRR) as if it were my own.
Foster AGREES to provide the dog/cat with exercise, basic obedience training and house/litter training.
Foster UNDERSTANDS that all dogs/cats placed in foster care need to be spayed/neutered and vaccinated. If I receive an unfixed dog/cat, RRR may request that I schedule an appointment with a designated RRR veterinarian and assist in transporting the dog/cat to and from the appointment. If I cannot arrange to do the transport myself, I will contact my RRR representative and assist in any way I can.
Foster UNDERSTANDS that no dog/cat CAN be adopted before being spayed or neutered unless it is a foster to adopt situation that has been approved by the RRR team.
Foster UNDERSTANDS that all basic medical expenses for each foster dog/cat that comes into my care will be covered by RRR, provided that an authorized RRR representative has approved the medical expenses, and the care is from a RRR designated veterinarian.
Foster UNDERSTANDS that if I choose to go to a vet of my choosing, I may be responsible for the vet bill.
Foster UNDERSTANDS that Ruff Road Revival will provide necessary supplies for the animal given the foster informs RRR of what supplies they will need. In the event that RRR does not have the exact supplies readily available, Ruff Road Revival will reimburse necessary supplies for the animal. Receipts for the supplies must be provided to Mikayla within 7 days of the purchase.
Foster UNDERSTANDS how to be reimbursed for said purchases. RRR appreciates willingness to donate toward the dog/cat’s general expenses, such as treats, toys, etc., and RRR will offer donated items, as available, for use by foster homes (such general expenses, if paid for by a foster home and not by RRR, may be tax deductible.) Crates and other supplies can be lent to foster homes and returned to RRR when a foster dog is adopted.
Foster UNDERSTANDS that RRR utilizes online adoption sites, the website, and social media to get animals adopted. Foster AGREES to assist in finding an adopter for my foster pet by marketing my foster pet online if possible and providing great clear photos with good lighting and a short biography of each foster cat or dog that comes into my care to a RRR representative.
Foster UNDERSTANDS that Ruff Road Revival requires all animals to be in the foster home for a minimum of two weeks before being posted for adoption and that the foster period can take weeks to months. Foster AGREES to commit to the foster pet until adoption if possible. Foster AGREES that if a situation arises where I can no longer foster the pet, I will notify an RRR representative and do everything in my power to find a suitable foster replacement. Foster UNDERSTANDS that finding a foster replacement may take time.
Foster UNDERSTANDS AND AGREES that any potential adopter MUST be screened and approved by an authorized RRR representative. I understand that my input will be appreciated and a part of the process. I understand that I will receive any promising adoption applications for my foster pet and be expected to look over them as well as interview the potential adopter myself so that RRR can work with me to choose the best home possible for my foster pet. I understand that the final decision to place or not to place any particular dog/cat with any particular potential adopter will be made by an authorized RRR representative with the thoughts and feelings of the foster at the forefront of the decision.
Foster AGREES that prospective adopters may contact me directly by phone or email.
Foster understands that the following protocol should be followed regarding children in the house:
-Do not under any circumstances leave a child unattended with any dog/cat.
-Do not leave bones around the house when children are present and be cautious and observant when children are eating and the dog is in the room (or the dog is eating and children are in the room).
-Should you have ANY concerns or feel uncomfortable with a situation between the dog/cat and a child, please contact Mikayla.
Foster understands that even if this animal has been housed with cats in its foster home that RRR cannot guarantee the behavior with a new cat(s) will be the same. Please use caution when introducing a new dog to existing cats in the household. If you need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact a RRR representative.
Foster understands and agrees to provide the foster animal with proper decompress time (utilizing the 3 3 3 rule that I will receive as part of my onboarding) with at least 3 days of decompression before doing slow introductions with resident pets and potentially longer decompression time before introductions depending on the animal.
Foster understands that I will receive information surrounding animal introduction, decompression and adjustment to my home as part of the onboarding process. Foster AGREES to thoroughly read over this information and to utilize it with each foster animal I bring into my home.
Foster UNDERSTANDS that the RRR ID tag (if I am given one) must always be worn on the dog’s collar, because this is its link to back to RRR. If the dog loses its tag, I agree to immediately contact RRR for a new one.
Foster AGREES to keep each foster dog that comes into my care on a leash when outside my home or my own securely fenced yard.
Foster AGREES to keep each foster cat indoors ONLY.
Foster AGREES to keep any puppies (or adult dogs) that are not fully vaccinated off of ground that has potentially been exposed to parvo (parvo can live for up to nine years on any surface including concrete, but especially grass/soil).
Foster UNDERSTANDS AND AGREES that no foster dog that comes into my care will be allowed to run or play off leash in a dog park or other open public area without prior approval from an RRR representative.
Foster UNDERSTANDS AND AGREES that I am responsible for the safety of each foster pet that comes into my care, and for the safety of other animals and people the foster pet encounters.
Foster AGREES to immediately notify my RRR contact in the event of a missing or injured foster dog/cat.
Foster UNDERSTANDS that if I decide to adopt a foster dog/cat in my care, I must go through the adoption process, including filling out an adoption application/contract and paying the requested adoption fee. (Adoption fees are used to help cover costs to save and help more dogs/cats.)
Foster UNDERSTANDS that any foster in my care must be kept indoors unless attended outside and will not be kept outside to sleep under any circumstances.
Foster promises to notify RRR if any foster dog/cat in my care is in need of veterinary care such as vaccinations, routine testing, illness treatment, heartworm/flea/tick prevention etc. and to schedule these appointments with an RRR vet tech or approved veterinarian.
Foster agrees to provide necessary medical care as soon as it is requested by RRR and understands that RRR will financially cover this medical care as long as it is approved and with an RRR approved vet.
Foster agrees to make time to return their foster animal to the care of an RRR representative (designated by Mikayla) or have it picked up by said RRR representative without question within 24 hours of RRR making the request.
RRR retains the right to remove a foster dog/cat from my care at any time.
These terms and conditions also provide for the release of liability of RRR and its volunteers on account of the actions of any dog or cat of any breed, which has been released into the ownership of RRR and placed into the care of a foster.
Thank you for choosing Ruff Road Revival! We are thrilled to have you join our foster team and aim to provide you with a wonderful fostering experience.
