1. The competitor shall comply with all relevant laws affecting its participation on the FarmFest site.
PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE
2. All competitors must have their own Public Liability Insurance.
3. Neither ACM or its employees will be responsible for any accident that may be caused through or by any competitor, and it shall be a condition of entry that each competitor shall hold ACM Agri or its employees harmless and indemnified against any legal proceedings arising from any such accidents or incidents.
INDEMNITY
4. The competitors shall be responsible for and shall indemnify ACM against, liability for all loss, theft, damage or injury to persons or property arising from the actions of or caused by the competitor, its agents or contractors in connection with the provision of the competition services.
ENTRY FEES
5. No refunds of entry fees given.
6. Competitors under 16 years of age MUST have a supervisor with them at all times.
LIVESTOCK ELIGIBILITY
7. No hormonal growth promotant (HGP) treated animals allowed to compete.
8. All cattle are eligible except those from restricted or quarantined herds.
9. All steers and heifers must be milk tooth and will be mouthed at weighing if required.
10. All steers and heifers must be polled or dehorned.
NLIS
11. All competitors on the site must supply a National Vendor Declaration (NVD)/Waybill to the FarmFest NLIS contractor. The NLIS contractor will be on-site on Monday 2 June, 2025 between 1pm to 5pm. Competitors will be responsible to provide the Property Identification Code (PIC) of where the livestock has come from.
STUD CATTLE CLASS ELIGIBILITY
12. To be eligible for the Stud Classes including Battle of the Bulls and Fantastic Females, only Livestock exhibitors are permitted to enter. The Livestock exhibitor must be registered with a recognised Breed Society or Association. Checks of Breed Society registers will be made if necessary. All Livestock must arrive on the site between 9am and 5pm on Monday 2 June, 2025. Livestock arriving outside of these hours will be refused entry.
LED STEER & HEIFER CLASS ELIGIBILITY
13. Steers and heifers can only compete in one section – Young Leaders in Agriculture or Open, but not both.
14. Steers and heifers entered in the Young Leaders in Agriculture section, Classes 1-4, must be paraded by a handler 18 years of age or under.
15. All Livestock must arrive on the site between 9am and 5pm on Monday, 2 June, 2025. Livestock arriving after 5pm will be refused entry.
16. All steers and heifers must be weighed. Weighing will commence from 1pm to 5pm on Monday 2 June, 2025. Steers and heifers not weighed during this nominated time will be ineligible to compete.
17. Judging will commence at 9.30am on Tuesday 3 June, 2025.
PRIZE MONEY
18. Prize money for Livestock competitions to be collected from 1pm on Thursday 5 June, 2025 from the FarmFest Headquarters upon receipt of a signed prize card from the FarmFest Livestock HQ.
19. Other Livestock prizes can be collected from the Livestock HQ prior to 4pm Thursday 5 June 2025 upon receipt of a signed prize card from the FarmFest Livestock Office. Prizes not collected by 4pm Thursday 5 June
2025 will be forfeited.
LIVESTOCK COMPETITION SAFETY
20. All cattle must have a nose ring or nose grip with lead attached when being led.
21. All steers and heifers must be bedded on sawdust due to fire risk (sawdust will be supplied)
22. All steers and heifers must be quiet and controlled by handlers at all times.
23. To comply with the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 each competitor is responsible for the creation and maintenance of a safe environment for their staff, servants, students, agents, contractors and visitors.
24. All power leads, electrical appliances and equipment brought onto the site must be tested and tagged in accordance with Australian Standards AS 3760. If no tag is evident, it will be a requirement of the owner to have such equipment tested and tagged by the authorised FarmFest Electrical Contractor at their own expense. To organise, check with the Livestock office. No double adaptors are permitted to be used on site.
25. No keys are permitted to be left in unattended vehicles on site.
26. No vehicular movement is permitted during public event opening times on or around the Livestock Area.
27. The competitor, its servants, agents, contractors will ensure that all vehicles it brings on the site have current registration and compulsory third party insurance.
28. All traffic management instructions must be adhered to in accordance with vehicle passes issued and/or written/verbal instructions given.
29. The competitor must ensure they wear personal protective clothing including high visibility clothing and enclosed footwear.
30. The competitor, its servants, agents, contractors must obey all safety signs and instruction from the organisers and their staff.
ORGANISERS
31. It is understood the FarmFest site is owned and operated by ACM. The organiser wherever appearing shall include Agricultural Publishers Pty Limited ABN 55 000 560 430.
ANIMAL WELFARE
32. Livestock exhibitors and competitors must comply with the Australian Animal Welfare Guidelines to ensure all livestock are treated in accordance with good animal welfare practices including adequate shelter, feed and water as required, provision of a rest area and limited time on display. Livestock must be in a healthy condition. If vet treatment is required whilst on the site the stock owner is responsible for any costs incurred.
DOGS
33. No Dogs. With the exception of guide dogs for the vision impaired, service dogs for medical or disability requirements and working dogs involved in official demonstrations, no dogs are permitted on-site.
JUDGES DECISION
34. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into in relation to their decision.
BIO SECURITY
35. To comply with the Qld Biosecurity Act 2014, all Livestock exhibitors and competitors have a general biosecurity obligation (GBO). This means that everyone is responsible for managing biosecurity risks that are under their control and that they know about, or should reasonably be expected to know about.
LIVESTOCK ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR QUEENSLAND
36. A certificate of health to bring livestock into Queensland is no longer needed, instead, owners must ensure that they understand and have met all requirements for moving livestock within Queensland. People introducing livestock into Queensland should seek a written assurance about the health status of the animals to be introduced.
