1. Analyzing medical records: review and analyze medical records, diagnostic reports, treatment plans, and other healthcare documentation. Provide consultation to help the Law Firm understand complex medical information, identify key medical issues, and gather relevant evidence to support legal cases.*

2. Conducting medical research: conduct literature reviews, and case investigations to gather information on medical conditions, treatment options, healthcare regulations, and industry standards. Assist the Law Firm in developing case strategies, preparing legal arguments, and presenting medical evidence in court.*

3. Organizing and managing medical evidence: manage medical evidence, expert witness testimony, and other documentation related to medical-legal cases. Ensure that all medical records are properly maintained, indexed, and accessible for legal proceedings.*

4. Communicating with medical experts: specifically healthcare providers, and other professionals to obtain expert opinions, schedule medical evaluations, and coordinate expert witness testimony. Assist the Law Firm to vet and engage medical experts who can provide specialized knowledge and expertise in medical-legal cases.*

5. Assisting with trial preparation: draft legal documents, preparing exhibits, conducting witness interviews, and organizing trial binders. Support the Law Firm during court proceedings, help with exhibit presentation, and coordinate with medical experts and witnesses.*

6. Providing expert witness testimony and testimony preparation: serve as a consultant and expert witness in legal proceedings to support legal arguments and educate judges and juries. Prepare witness reports, participate in dispositions, and testify in court to explain complex medical concepts, offer medical opinions, and help clarify medical evidence in a case.*

DUAL ROLES AND RELATIONSHIPS:
The Law Firm and the Client have been informed and understand that Jamila Coleman has been retained as a behavioral health therapist and a paralegal. By Jamila Coleman holding dual roles, a dual relationship may have been established with the Client. As a therapist, Jamila Coleman will provide confidential, trauma-informed, culturally responsive therapeutic services to the Client. As a paralegal, Jamila Coleman will offer legal support in behavioral health-related cases, including consultation, analyzing medical records, conducting research, and expert testimony. Jamila Coleman will comply with role-specific ethical standards, including state and federal regulations to ensure that the boundaries between the dual roles are clearly defined to best serve the needs of the Client and the Law Firm, while upholding professional integrity.*

LIMITATIONS:
The Law Firm understands that if a conflict of interest occurs, such as Jamila Coleman is actively serving, or within the past five years served, a Client and the Law Firm seeks to retain Jamila Coleman on behalf of another party for a matter involving the Client. Without disclosing the therapeutic relationship or reason behind the conflict of interest, Jamila Coleman reserves the right to decline any requests presented by the Law Firm to serve on a Client’s legal team. *

The Law Firm understands that a signed release of information/consent from the Client is required before Jamila Coleman can exchange and disclose information obtained during the initial assessment and treatment process. The Law Firm understands that not all information disclosed in treatment will be shared to the legal team. Jamila Coleman agrees to only share information that the Client has agreed to be shared with the Law Firm. Jamila Coleman reserves the right to disclose information obtained through the therapeutic relationship that is necessary for the Law Firm’s legal strategy.*

The Law Firm understands that under this agreement Jamila Coleman’s duty is of a behavioral health professional first and paralegal secondary. Jamila Coleman reserves the right to act in the best interest of the Client and their wellbeing while providing non-biased legal support to Law Firm. The Law Firm understands that Jamila Coleman’s clinical recommendations may not always be in aligned with the intended position of the planned legal strategy. Jamila Coleman will maintain transparency, objectivity, and neutrality with all parties, disclosing any potential ethical conflicts between Jamila Coleman’s dual-role relationship with the Client and/or Law Firm. *

The Law Firm understands that Jamila Coleman’s time spent with the Client will be limited to working on the treatment goal(s) established at initial assessment associated with their diagnosis. Information obtained through research, external records review, and interviews on behalf of the Law Firm will not be disclosed to the Client in therapy sessions. *

FEES AND PAYMENT TERMS:
The Law Firm agrees to pay Jamila Coleman for all billable hours worked on behalf of the Firm. Jamila Coleman will be compensated using the following fee schedule:*

$300.00 - Assessment (up to 2 hours) with client; written evaluation and recommendations summary provided to Law Firm.$400.00 - 4 Individual Treatment (50 minutes/session) with client sessions, includes progress notes provided to both client and Law Firm.$45.00 - Consultation (per hour) with/on behalf of the legal and care team members, including reviewing case records and research to advise on behavioral health matters.$250.00 - Court testimony (per hour) via oral or written testimony.$150.00 - Discharge Summary (written); provided to both client and Law Firm.
The Law Firm will pay Jamila Coleman on a monthly basis for all billable hours worked. Payment shall be made within ten (10) calendar days of receipt of the invoice. Jamila Coleman reserves the right to assess a late fee in the amount of $20.00 per day for unpaid invoices until paid. *

Jamila Coleman agrees to not exceed the approved allotted billable hours without prior written authorization by the Law Firm.*
CONFIDENTIALITY:
Jamila Coleman agrees to maintain the confidentiality of all Client information, case details, and other sensitive information obtained in the course of providing services to the Law Firm.*

NON-REFUNDABILITY:
The retainer fee paid by the Law Firm to Jamila Coleman in the amount of $1,000.00 is non-refundable. The Law Firm acknowledges that the retainer fee is paid to secure the availability of Jamila Coleman's services and is not refundable under any circumstances.*

AMENDMENTS:
Either party may initiate an amendment to the Scope of Services and/or Fee Schedule by mutual written consent of both Parties. Any proposed amendments or modifications to this Agreement shall be provided in writing and agreed upon by both Parties before they become effective. This provision ensures that any changes to the terms of this Agreement are made in a transparent and mutually agreed-upon manner.*

TERMINATION:
Either party may terminate this Agreement by providing sixty (60) calendar days' written notice to the other party. Upon termination, the Law Firm agrees to pay Jamila Coleman for all hours worked up to the date of termination.*
