    For new applicants: Write an essay of at least 100 words on why you would like to work for and study in the Math Corps at CSU and why you think you should be chosen.

    For returning applicants: Write an essay of at least 100 words on how your experiences as a TA have impacted you and influenced your decision to reapply.

    There are two ways to provide the essay:

    1. Write the essay directly into this form.

    2. Upload a file of your essay.

    Attach a copy of your January 2025 report card.

    NOTE: If your math grade(s) is below a "B-", you must include a letter of recommendation from a teacher, administrator, or counselor with your application.

  • If you are having difficulty uploading a photo, it is likely because the size of the picture is too large. You can compress the photo on your smartphone using the following steps: 

    1. Go to the photo you are trying to upload in your photo album. 
    2. Take a screenshot of that photo.
    3. Text or Email the screenshot to yourself.
    4. Save the image to your phone. 
    5. Upload the new photo.

  • TA Diagnostic Exam 

    All TA applicants must take the Math Corps TA Diagnostic Exam. 

    Call (216) 523-7151 or email math.corps.csu@mathcorps.org to schedule your exam.

    IMPORTANT:  TAs serve as mentors and math tutors to middle school students. As such, the Diagnostic Exam is an extremely important part of the application process and should be taken seriously. Studying is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. A list of study topics can be found here. 

     

  • *On Feb 8th, 15th and 22nd, applicants can come ANYTIME between 10:00am and 2:00pm to complete their Diagnostic Exam.

  • The Math Corps at CSU Summer Camp runs Mondays - Thursday, June 30 - August 1. Students in the program are expected to attend on time and fully all program days* listed below: 

    • TA Registration (with a parent/guardian): TBD
    • mandatory TA Training: Monday, June 16 - Friday, June 20
    • Camp Registration & Orientation: TBD
    • Camp: Monday - Thursday, June 30 - August 1, 9am - 3:30pm 
    • Closing Ceremonies: Friday, August 1, 6:30pm

    *An absence caused by illness, fmaily emergency, or other unforeseen and unavoidable event may be excused, if prompt notification is given to the Program Coordinator. Family vacation, reunions, and other similar outings are not considered excused as they conflict with the program's goals. Any unexcused absence is grounds for dismissal.
