Terms & Conditions of Boarding
(Including Additional Fees Where Applicable)
These terms are in place to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all rabbits staying at A Bunny Holiday Sydney.
Health at Check-In
Rabbits must arrive in good health.
If your rabbit is unwell, has fleas, or has mites, I reserve the right to refuse accommodation to protect other rabbits.
Indoor Rabbit & Parasite Prevention Requirement
I only board indoor house rabbits.
To protect all rabbits from fleas and mites, all rabbits must be treated with Revolution either before or upon arrival.
If Revolution is administered by me on arrival:
Fee: $15 per rabbit (per treatment) — this can be added to your boarding fee total. [ ] (tick box below)
If you apply Revolution monthly, please include the application date and dosage in your notes.
If your rabbit has outdoor (grass) access, you must:
Keep your rabbit indoors only for 7 days prior to check-in
Apply Revolution 7 days before boarding
Medication Administration (Non-contagious conditions only)
Medication can be administered if required.
Fees (per treatment):
Injections — $20
Oral medication — $10
Cream applications — $10
Eye cream — $10
Eye drops — $5
Please:
Calculate total treatments and add to your boarding fee
Provide a medication routine calendar, including: Medication name and storage
Dosage, dates, and times to administer.
Total treatment fees.
This can be emailed after submitting your booking form.
Additional Surcharges
Additional surcharges (if applicable) are added to the daily boarding fee:
Not desexed (over 6 months):
$20 per rabbit, per day
Long fur (extra grooming required):
$15 per rabbit, per day
History of EC or Pasteurella:
$20 per rabbit, per day (extra monitoring and hygiene required)
Please include relevant history in your notes.
Hygiene Care
If a rabbit develops a dirty or sticky bottom, a hygiene clean may be required.
Bottom wash and tidy fee: $50 per treatment
A photo will be sent to you
The area will be gently cleaned
Fur may be trimmed if necessary
Payment: Payable at check-out.
Health Issues During Boarding
If a health issue arises:
I will contact you immediately, where possible
If you are unavailable, you authorise me to act in your rabbit’s best interest
Many issues can be managed safely with rabbit first aid and supportive care.
Extra Care (In-House – Gut Stasis or Illness)
If your rabbit requires additional monitoring or supportive care:
Extra care fee: $100 per day, in addition to the paid boarding fee.
This includes:
Intensive monitoring
Rabbit first aid
Additional time and attention
Payment: Payable at check-out.
Contagious Illness
If your rabbit shows symptoms of a contagious condition (including EC or Pasteurella):
Quarantine & care fee: $100 per day
This covers:
Isolation procedures
Enhanced hygiene
Increased monitoring
This fee applies from the day symptoms appear until:
Check-out, or Transfer to veterinary care - ($100 transport fee is charged)
Payment: Payable at check-out or prior to transfer.
If transferred to veterinary care, boarding fees are not refunded.
All veterinary costs remain the owner’s responsibility.
Veterinary Care & Payment
If veterinary care is required:
I will contact you prior to a vet consult, wherever possible
If you are unavailable, you authorise me to spend up to $1,000 for the initial consultation
You agree to cover:
Veterinary consultation and treatment costs
$100 transport fee
$100 extra care fee (for that day)
Payment Terms:
If contactable, veterinary fees must be paid at the time of consultation
If not contactable, all veterinary costs must be paid in full prior to collection
Total (excluding vet fees): $200 for the veterinary visit and support day.
If ongoing care is required, the $100 daily extra care fee continues until recovery or check-out.
Note: After-hours (rabbit vets) are extremely limited. Emergency call-in fees may exceed $1500 and will not proceed without your approval.
Collection Policy
Rabbits must be collected on the agreed date unless arranged in advance.
If not collected:
Boarding fees continue at the standard daily rate
If no contact is made within 7 days:
The rabbit may be transferred to a suitable rescue or rehoming arrangement
All associated costs remain the owner’s responsibility.
Purpose of These Terms
These terms ensure I can provide safe, prompt, and experienced care if your rabbit becomes unwell during their stay.
With many years of hands-on experience, I am often able to manage issues quickly and effectively using rabbit first aid and supportive care.
