    Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Riverside Youth Court, a program of the Riverside Police Department.

    Please note, applying does not guarantee acceptance into the program. All applicants will undergo an informal background investigation, and volunteers must not have any felony convictions.

    Eligibility Requirements:

    • Applicants must be 12 to 18 years old.

    • Must have adequate time to serve and reliable transportation.

    • Youth Court sessions are held on Wednesday evenings from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Riverside Hall of Justice in Downtown Riverside. (If accepted, volunteers should have transportation available for pick up by 8:30 P.M.)

    • Pass an informal background investigation.

     

    Training Date: September 23, 2026

    Application Acceptance Period: May 13 - August 21, 2026 (Limited to the first 50 applications)

    Status Notification Email: September 8, 2026

    All applicants will have a background check as part of the application process. All submissions and their IP address are logged. Applications are processed on a first come, first served basis. Submittal of an application is not a guarantee of acceptance into the Youth Court program. Upon acceptance, an email will be sent to the volunteer's email address to confirm participation interest, and an interview will be scheduled.
