    Deadline Submission: October 1, 2025
  • Umpqua Valley Arts (UVA) invites artists to propose exhibitions for our galleries for the 2026 exhibition schedule. Each year, our exhibitions range from solo and small group exhibits to larger calls to artists that fill all of our galleries. Exhibits at UVA rotate every eight to ten weeks throughout the year, and take place across all four of our galleries.

Our three main galleries are The Hallie Brown Ford Gallery, the Corridor Gallery, and Gallery II. These gallery spaces are managed and operated by UVA Staff and are available for local, national, and regional artists to apply for.

The Red Door Gallery is our fourth exhibition space, also managed and operated by UVA Staff, and is reserved for our Artist Members. Exhibits in the Red Door Gallery give our Artist Members the opportunity to share the work they are creating in their personal and professional practices while also providing arts and culture experiences for the community. Artist Members who submit a propsal may also be considered for other gallery spaces.

Our year-round exhibition programming helps to promote emerging, mid-career, and established artists while also providing innovative exhibitions that give viewers the opportunity to learn about and participate in the discourse, dialogue and practices happening with contemporary artists. UVA's Exhibitions Coordinator and Gallery Committee are responsible for jurying/selecting exhibition proposals for all galleries and consider the quality of the work, the narrative and ideas outlined in the artist statement, the size of the body of work, installation requirements, and the social/cultural impact of the work when reviewing submissions.

  • For your reference, we have provided two documents that outline our Content Policy Statement, and our Exhibit Proposal Guidelines. Please review these documetns to learn more abou tour exhibition guidelines before completing the form:

  • Our exhibition schedule allows for five exhibition sessions to cycle out of UVA's galleries annually. Two of those exhibition sessions are reserved for annual shows that take place across all of UVA's galleries from the end of August through December. Every two years, an additional exhibition session is reserved for the Artworks Northwest Biennial. Around these guarnateed exhibits, the Gallery Committee and the Exhibitsion Coordinator also plan special exhibition projects that our community to enjoy that may take up select galleries in select exhibition cycles. As a result, availability in the galleries varies from year-to-year.

Below we are including a brief schedule overview of the available exhibition cycles for the galleries in 2026. Please pick the option that your work will most likely be available for exhibit in 2026, and include a second choice in the event your first becomes unavailable. If you are interested in exhibiting in the 2027 exhibition year, please select that option for both the preferred date and the second choice, and we will reach out to you to discuss dates once we confirm our 2027 exhibition schedule.

Having these dates helps streamline the planning and selection process for the committee, but we understand that availability may shift and change prior to the October 1st deadline. We are happy to work with the artists on an alternative should the first and second choices become unavailable for any reason.

  • Artwork Images

Please submit at least 5 image examples of the body of work. These should be examples of the individual pieces that will be included in the show and of high quality. A minimum of 5 images is required to be eligible for the jury process. We also include additional image upload boxes for a total of 15 opportunities to provide examples of your work.

For group exhibits, only a minimum of 5 images are required, but we recommend providing more than one image per participating artist if you can. This will give the jury a well-rounded example of how the works will look together.
Example: If there are three participating artists, each artist will be able to provide 5 image examples for a total of 15 images. Alternatively, a show consisting of five artists will be able to only include 3 image examples each for a total of 15 images, but this would still provide good examples of each artists' work.

    Upload Guidelines

All images must be uploaded through the form to be considered for jury. Digital files must be JPEG files with a resolution of 300 dpi and a file size of approximately 5 -10 MB. This is ideal to provide the jury with high quality and clear images for review.

Please name your files as specified below. This step is required to help identify the artwork to the artist for submissions to make it to the jury process:

    LastName_FirstName_01.JPEG.

For each image, there is a corresponding box for Artwork Information. Please include all artwork information as shown below:

    Artist Name
    Artwork Title
