The Newcomer Program offers a blend of mentorship, skills development workshops, networking opportunities, scholarships, and personalized support for Black newcomers and Not in Employment, Education or Training youth in Ontario. Open to individuals at all career levels, the program helps participants start or grow their careers. Commitment to learning and career development is essential!
Important information to note:
Who can participate in this program?
- A black-identifying recent graduate, skilled immigrant or NEET youth who lives in Ontario
- You are unemployed or underemployed and are looking to find gainful employment
- Someone who is willing to put in the time and effort to understand how the Canadian job market works, build new connections and bridge any research gaps you may have
- You have not participated in the program before
Commitments & Expectations
- The program will run for 3 months with a required minimum commitment of five-30 minute mentorship sessions throughout the program timeframe.
- Required to attend the worskhops and in-person networking events
- This will be a fully virtual program, however, we may have in-person connect events so that program participants can build their network.
