Gentry High School Local Scholarship
Thank you for your interest in applying for the Gentry High School local scholarship. You must be currently enrolled as a senior at Gentry High School to apply for this scholarship. The Gentry Local Scholarship funds will be distributed according to the student's GPA, based on the 5.0 scale. Priority will be given to those with a 3.0 and above. The number of scholarships given for the current year will depend on the available funds. Filling out an application does not guarantee you will receive a local scholarship.
1. Applications must be TYPED into this form. Handwritten applications will not be accepted.
2. Applications must be submitted on the following deadline date on or before: March 7, 2025. (If school is canceled for any reason on the day of the scholarship deadline the applications will be due at 4:00pm the first day back in session after the original deadline date, STUDENTS MUST TURN THEIR APPLICATIONS IN BY 4:00pm ON OR BEFORE THE DEADLINE, MARCH 7, 2025. (No exceptions) Also, you must send an email saying you have completed and submitted your form, to Mr. McCollum (smccollum@gentrypioneers.com), when you submit your application.
3. Applications MUST be free of errors.
4. A typed essay, of approximately 200 - 300 words in which you discuss your involvement, ambitions, and future plans should uploaded to the application.
5. Applications must include an appropriate photo - no glamor shots, please.
6. The following information must be obtained from the registrar (Mr. McCollum)
A copy of your high school transcript A copy of your ACT Composite Score or SAT score. Your ACT/SAT score should be typed on the application below. If you have not taken the ACT, please type "n/a" in that text box.
GPA (based on a 5.0 scale) - to be typed on the application below.
Class Rank - to be typed on the application below.
GPA and Class Rank should reflect the student's completion of the 7th semester.
7. Only completed applications submitted including the following will be considered for funding. 1) application 2) essay 3) transcript 4) ACT scores 5) Appropriate Photo 6) GPA 7) Class Rank 8) Applicants Signature 9) Parents/Guardians signature *All questions should be answered.
