Research and Innovation Funding Application

Alaska DOT&PF staff can request funding support for AASHTO, TRB, or NCHRP committee meetings and for Research or Innovation related conference attendance. Participating in these meetings or conferences helps DOT&PF learn about innovative solutions, technologies, and best practices to keep Alaska moving.
These FHWA research funds are used in support of surface transportation, which includes roads and highways, public transit, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, and the Alaska Marine Highway System.

Each funding request can be up to $4,000. Eligible expenses include conference fees, airfare, ground transportation, lodging, and per diem.

Sharing information with the Alaska transportation community is a key requirement for using Research funds for travel. Please specify how you plan to implement or share new ideas and recommendations gained from attendance.
