All classes and our LIT Showcase feature O'Mara Sprung Wood Floors!

 

Class Descriptions

TAP Technique Class - A class dedicated to improving your technical skills. 

CHOREOGRAPHY/Combination class - A class focused on picking-up and retaining new material.

IMPROV Class + Cutting Contest Experience. A guided class to improve dancers’ ability to improv and hold the ONE. 

Levels 

Beginner/Intermediate - Tap dancers who register for this level must be at least 9 years of age with two years prior tap experience. This class will include slighty challenging material taken at a more moderate pace.

Intermediate/Advanced - Tap dancers who register for this level should have at least 3 years training and be comfortable with more challenging material taught at quicker pace.

INCLUDED with every Beginner/Intermediate, and Intermediate/Advanced Registration -  One hour of tap technique. One hour of tap combination/choreography. Improv + Cutting Contest workshop. Tap Dance Footage Viewing along with faculty Q&A. Eligibility to register for our LIT Tap Showcase.

Teacher/Assistant Teacher - For tap dancers already teaching tap class or those assisting or aspiring to teach tap class.

INCLUDED with every Teacher/Assistant Teacher Registration - One 90 minute tap class. Access to every Beginner/Intermediate, and Intermediate/Advanced class. Access to Improv + Cutting Contest workshop. Access to our Tap Dance Footage Viewing along with faculty Q&A.

LIT Showcase

PERFORM your solos, duos, trios, and small group pieces. No bad judges. No Marley floors. No overpowering music. No Competition. Our showcase is about performing, not competing.

EVERYONE attending classes at LIT is welcome to register to perform in our showcase. Everyone who performs in the show gets 1 complimentary ticket for themself to also attend as an audience member. 

RECOGNITION awards. Everyone performing in the LIT Tap Showcase is automatically eligible to receive a recognition award (including full scholarships to a future LIT).

TICKETS to the showcase need to be purchased to attend the show. They start at $5 and are donation based. They can be acquired at tapdance.ticketleap.com.

Tables and chairs will be available for any student who wishes to watch other classes. We encourage you to bring lunch as food is permitted on the premises. YOU are expected to be responsible for any trash as respectable dancers always clean up after themselves...Trash receptacles will be provided.

11:25am – 12:25pm Beg/Int Technique Class 

12:25pm – 1:25pm Beg/Int Choreography/Combo Class

1:30pm – 2:30pm Inter/Adv Technique Class 

2:30pm – 3:30pm Inter/Adv Choreography Combo Class

3:30pm – 4:45pm Improv Class + Cutting Contest Experience

BREAK: 4:45pm – 6:30pm

6:30pm - 7pm Tap Dance Footage Viewing

Beginner/Intermediate LIT(10:45 AM – 7:15 PM):

10:45am - 11:00am Arrival and check-in

11:25am – 12:25pm Technique Class 

12:25pm – 1:25pm Choreography/Combo Class 

BREAK: 1:30pm – 3:30pm (bring lunch and stick around to watch class)

3:30pm – 4:45pm Improv Class + Cutting Contest Experience. 

BREAK: 4:45pm – 6:30pm

6:30 - 7pm Tap Dance Footage Viewing 

7:00pm - 7:15pm Tap Dance Q&A

Performer Registration

WE welcome Solos, Duos, Trios, and Groups up to 16 dancers to register for the showcase.

YES, you may be in more than one dance (ie you have a solo and you are also part of a duo or group piece).

THOSE registered to perform do NOT need to purchase a ticket to the show. 

EACH dancer is responsible for paying their own individual performance fee(s). For Duo, Trio, and group performances, all dancers are responsible to submit their own registration fees separately. For duos, trios, and groups you are not officially register until each performer has registered and paid their performer fee(s).

YOU must be registered for class to be in the showcase. Unless otherwise discussed directly with Anthony Lo Cascio (ex invited guests).

IF you choose to register for the showcase someone from our organziation will contact you within 12 to 48 hours of your registration to adress further details (ie music submission, name of the dancers in any particular piece).

Merchandise

GET LIT and Taplife Hero Foundation gear now. Then wear it on the day!! Visit our official merch store  to order your LIT merchandise prior to the event. While you can still order at the event we do NOT have physical merchandise on hand. ALL orders are mailed directly to YOU. When placing your order be aware of lead time so you know exactly when your order will arrive at your home. This link will be provided again at the end of your registration. Our merchandise is part of an ongoing fundraiser for Taplife Hero Foundation.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Anthony Lo Cascio & #Taplife Hero Foundation (Taplife Hero Foundation, Inc) are committed to conducting its programs and activities in a safe manner and holds the safety of participants in high regard. The Foundation continually strives to reduce such risks and insists that all participants follow safety rules and instructions that are designed to protect the participants’ safety. However, participants must recognize that there is an inherent risk of injury when choosing to participate in any activity or program affiliated with “#Taplife”.

It is strongly urged that all participants review their own health insurance policy for coverage. Additionally, each participant (and his/her guardian) is solely responsible for determining if he/she is physically fit and/or adequately skilled for any activity. It is always advisable, especially if the participant is pregnant, disabled in any way or recently suffered an illness, injury or impairment, to consult a physician before undertaking any physical activity.

WARNING OF RISK
Despite careful and proper preparation, instruction and medical advice, condition and equipment there is still a risk of serious injury when participating in any activity/program. Understandably, not all hazards and dangers can be foreseen. Participants must understand that depending upon the activity, certain risks, dangers and injuries due to acts of God, inclement weather, slipping, falling, inadequate or defective equipment, failure in supervision or instruction, premises defects, horseplay, carelessness, lack of skill or technique, and all other circumstances inherent to recreational activities/programs exist. In this regard, it must be recognized that it is impossible for “#Taplife” to guarantee absolute safety.

WAIVER AND RELEASE OF ALL CLAIMS AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK
Please read this form carefully and be aware that in signing up and participating in any Foundation event, you will be expressly assuming the risk and legal liability and waiving and releasing all claims for injuries, damages or loss which you may sustain as a result of participating in any and all activities connected with and associated with your participation in this #Taplife event (including transportation services, when provided).
As a participant, I recognize and acknowledge that there are certain risks of physical injury in participation of #Taplife events, and I voluntarily agree to assume the full risk of any and all injuries, damages or loss, regardless of severity that I may sustain as a result of said participation. I further agree to waive and relinquish all claims I may have (or accrue to me) as a result of participating in this #Taplife event against Tap Life, LLC OR the rental space, including its officials, agents, volunteers and employees (hereinafter collectively referred as “Parties”).
I do hereby fully release and forever discharge the Parties from any and all claims for injuries, damages or loss that I may have or which may accrue to me arising out of, connected with, or in any way associated with my participation.

I have read and fully understand the above important information, warning of risk, assumption of risk and waiver and release of all claims.
