Welcome to the application form for Model European Union Strasbourg 2025! Below you will find more information about the form and MEUS.
Dear Interpreters,

Thank you for applying for MEUS 2025!

To be considered as an interpreter at MEUS 2025 you have to fulfil the following key requirements:

1. You have to be a Conference Interpreting student or a graduate and must have at least some training in simultaneous interpreting, as simultaneous will be your main work mode at MEUS 2025.
2. You must have English as your B language.
3. If English is your A language, you must have a B language.
4. Be between 18 and 30 years old.
5. Be physically present in Strasbourg throughout the conference
6. Must not have been an Interpreter in previous editions of MEUS.

Preparing your application

We highly recommend browsing the MEUS 2025 website prior to completing this application. We recommend that you familiarise yourself with the sections relating to your preferred roles before applying. Please be aware you cannot save the progress as you fill out the form. The form should take about 20 to 25 minutes to complete.

Please be as creative as possible in your answers. Plagiarism will not be accepted and will result in your application being rejected.
If you have any questions about the MEUS 2025 application process that are not answered in the FAQ section of our website, please contact us directly at interpreters@meu-strasbourg.org and we will answer your questions as soon as we can.
Model European Union Strasbourg 2025 will take place from 6 April to 10 April 2025 and will be held in Strasbourg, France.
Applications are open from 10 December 2024 until 10 January 2025.

Participation fee

Participation Fee for the "Early bird open call" (From 10.12. until 17.12.) is 215€
Participation Fee for the remaining time of the open call is 230€
Participation Fee without accommodation provided is 200€
The participation fee may be waived or reimbursed depending on special conditions that you may express in the application form.

NOTE: Bank account details will be provided after you have been accepted as a participant.

Please be aware that if you change your mind after making your choice we can't guarantee you a place in the accommodation. Similarly, if you indicate that you need accommodation in this form but have subsequently secured your own accommodation for MEUS, we will not be able to give you the option to pay the lower participation fee or refund the difference in fees.

If you require accommodation, the participation fee covers the nights of 6 to 10 April 2025 in shared hotel rooms booked exclusively for the conference. You will be required to share a room with a fellow participant of the same gender.

The Social Fund
Would you like to apply for the social fund?*

The MEUS Social Fund is designed to better enable participants facing disadvantageous health and/or socioeconomic situations, which would otherwise hinder their participation in our conference. Through the Social Fund, we aim to provide financial assistance by covering a portion of the participation fees and/or travel costs to Strasbourg. Applicants will be required to explain their need for this financial assistance through the following questions by clearly stating how this would allow them to better participate in our conference. All applications to the Social Fund will be anonymously reviewed by the Directorate of MEUS 2025. The final Social Fund amounts and types of assistance provided may vary from participant to participant and remains at the discretion of MEUS 2025.
